Does anyone by chance have the detailed installation guide for the Caltracs traction bars for the RC srt10?? Lost my guide and having some trouble with the install. If anyone has the RC guide would they mind emailing me pictures of everything? [email protected] is my email. Thanks!!

If you need instructions on how to put these on let alone the bump steer kit you shouldn't be working on a vehicle at all

Don't listen to E. With his tenure he seems to have forgotten what its like to actually participate as a member of a car club.

The installation is fairly straight forward.

Jack up rear of truck
Place jack stands
Remove wheels.
Support rear axle with additional set of jack stands. I typically place them 6-8" from the diff
I used a floor jack to raise the pumpkin slightly lessening the tension on the leaf springs for the next step.
Remove U bolt, bolts.
Remove stock U bolt Mount
Install Caltrac U bolt mount
Unbolt front of leaf and then install Caltrac front pivot assmbly.
When you install the Bar you want it to be parallel with the ground. I had to use the bottom hole.
I also had to cut off like 5" of the bottom leaf spring because it would come into contact with the caltrac bar because my truck has the JTSVP 2/5" kit.

Leaf springs are heavy so be careful. Helps to have someone help you.

Oh i found this website with better instructions. Check it out as my memory isn't perfect- i did the install 4 years ago i think.. The install is fairly straight forward but there are some details i forgot. Its a different story when you get your hands in it.

Caltracs installation instructions

Good luck.

My kit came with solid bushings for the front eyelet of the leaf spring. Need to push out the rubber one. I remove the springs and did it in a press. Need an extra person for that. The rest is straight forward.Adjusting the tension on the bars takes some time. The caltracs really only Eliminate the wheels hop. Straightens the launch. Have fun!

Sorry guys. sometimes I just forget that common sense is not always common. If people take 5 mins and Google you can find anything these days.

No my main issue is the fixed bolt that held the leaf pack together and the bolts they supplied. Am I just using the fixed holt again or what? This is what I'm confused on. Too much goin on with my truck and stupid shit has me stressed out

Not as much info as you would think, and everything I found was for QC....but thanks for being a dickhead

No problem. Thats what we are here for. To give advice so people can do the exact opposite. And fyi im not a dickhead, im an asshole. Huge difference.

Leave the center bolt in! the spring will fall apart otherwise. Replace the spring mount , lower plate, with the new one.Reinstall the u-bolts.

I just did them on my truck, you have to remove the springs, remove the bottom plates, use c-clamps to hold the pack together, then take out that center pin. Use vise grips to hold the head. After that the slapper bar should come off. Then install the new allen cap bolt. After that uses chisel or wedge to open up the spring eye. Drill out the rubber in the bushing and then use a piece of pipe to hammer out the old bushing shell. Then with some wooden blocks in a vise press in the aluminum bushings. Make sure you freeze these over night and coat them with the silver never seize. Re-install and tighten all the leaf spring bolts with the truck on the ground. I then installed the bars by thread each eye all the way in and backing them off the same amount on each end until they fit.( that's with the poly roller touching the spring) Now put a mark on the tube and turn it 1-1/2 turns from touching. This is what I did and had zero problems with. The hardest part is getting those old bushings out. Second hardest is pressing the new bushings in because the spring eye tightens up after you take the wedge out.

Sorry for calling you a dickhead lol stupid piece of shit truck has me stressed out with new issues every other week and now I gotta pull the engine to have the cylinders honed again annd replace the rings after only 7k miles. Nothing but problems since I bought the truck and now the engine took a shit. It's currently my daily so that's why I'm so stressed. Just didn't expect to get a shitty answer.

P.s. I'm an asshole too so I agree with the difference thing...asshole

I already had the springs off and bushing out and the new mount bolted on with one of the bolts supplied, I was mainly just stuck with the stock bolt that was seated in the mount under the axle. I didn't know if I had to pop it out or what but I got that part figured out and knocked it out. I'm all good to go now as soon as I get the bushinng in and then get a new rear leaf spring bolt to replace the one I snapped like a jackass...don't ask.
