Anyone else been trying to follow along on the new SRT Demon? I can honestly say that I am like a little kid counting down the days of Christmas with every update they are releasing weekly. Not sure if I'll be able to afford one without selling the SRT10 and my Viper though... Not sure I can commit to that. As long as the production run isn't to short I will own one of these!!!

I am interested to see what they have put together as well.
Unfortunately I think it will just be a good looking tire shredder, like the hellcat. It would be awesome if the chassis and tires could stick the power. I don't have much use for a drift car.
This has got to kinda piss off hellcat owners. They will not be the horsepower winners any longer.

Well if its one of the mules running around with wide azz tires it would be able to put the power down. From the sound of things FCA is going to make this thing a 1/4 mile beast. Rumor has it the next Shelby GT500 is supposed to be a twin turbo v8 with 700+ hp, so.

Supposedly (clearly all speculation at this point) rumors are flying that not only is it suppose to have 800+ HP, but there is word that it is also supposed to be a wide-body Challenger accommodating wider tires!

If it turns out to be AWD and 800 HP I might sell all that I own to get one. I am sure with the dealer mark up I will have to.

The car is supposed to be built with the single goal of drag racing in mind. With that being said I doubt and I hope it's not all wheel drive. I really don't think the manufacturer would want to have to warranty an 800+ HP AWD system, nevermind the car itself. I just feel as if the car would be in self destruct mode. I realize there are other high performance AWD cars out there, but to maintain 800-900HP in a car that would probably be around 4800lbs and be designed for drag racing, not road course, would be quite challenging (no pun intended). The added weight from an AWD system that could handle that kind of constant abuse would be heavy!

I can dream. My current dream is having 800+ HP and being able to stick it to pavement. I don't think 10.5 inch in the rear is gonna do it.

I agree that it's unlikely and would be heavy and a setup probably waiting to grenade.

Don't trust any internet pics, they're more than likely just shots of the new Fast & Furious movie.... which is definitely not a Demon. I really hope this is not FCA's idea of wide-body. When Chevy just put fender flares on the "new" Z28 Camaro a couple of years back to close up the wheel gap for the smaller rims and tires I think I threw up in my mouth a little :puke:

You can't trust the internet, but here is another pic and the wheels look the same. It also looks like the hood may be taller to accommodate a larger supercharger. attachment-1-1.jpg

Where would anyone use that kind of power. They don't give tickets at those speeds you could drive. They beat you with a night stick a take you ass to jail.
