No disrespect if the owner is a member. I bought my old QC from a forum member. Does this truck look familiar? . rear tires are bald. red flag?

https://houston.craigslist.org/cto/5986926820.html

When i sold my QC, i was alarmed when i had to lower the price. Now that i'm back in the market, I understand that the demand is not there. When it comes to these trucks, how do you define "fair" or "market price"?
Many owners are emotionally tied to their trucks.

Says 100% rear tires, as in they are new. But seems like he is emotionally attached, agreed. I got my 2005 with 40k miles for $20k. But that was 4 years ago.

IMHO, Up front and on top, the truck is clean. Miles are decent. However, the truck has one major "bolt on" that does not ADD performance. The K&N intake. Everyone knows that the factory set up with a K&N drop in performs the best. The Gen II shifter is a nice driver mod. Rear tires? They are the cheap replacements. The factory selected tire is the best performer for this truck. Besides the KDW's (not available anymore), the Scorpion Zero is the lightest, stickiest and properly load rated tire for the SRT-10 (heavy truck puts ALOT of force into the tires). I would also like to see how clean this ride is underneath. Keep in mind, 2006 is the heaviest RC ;)

$30K with no real tasty bolt on's? IDK. Emissions? Big deal! How about routine maintenance? Important!

However, it looks to be clean, well kept (Garaged), driven occasionally just Like I do, and that's a positive thing. :D

Good Luck with search.

Cheers!

when i talked to him on the phone, he said the rear tires are bald. makes me wonder if he's taking good care of the car or if it just looks good. He also said he wants to replace all four tires prior to sale. seems kinda fishy

Then, it's time to move on

The market is there and people will pay the higher prices. Especially on an 06 as much as I hate to say that. I sold an almost mint 06 RC last year with 20k miles for 28.5k. Only took a week:)

My suggestion would be to find one with a few more miles that's been taken care of!;)

WOW the rear tires are bald, I bet no one has tried to accelerate in one of these trucks before 0-60 or done a burn out.. Truck must be garbage,, if tires are bald.. HUGE RED FLAG BALD TIRES>. OMG... stay away from that one.. who on earth with one of these trucks has went through a set of rear tires. I bet not one VTCOA member.. Well maybe one but that would be it.... STAY AWAY, sign of MASSIVE ABUSE.. he possibly rolled the truck and had a head on collision as well.. Bald tires is typically a sign of that.. Check the frame to make sure it was not damaged heavily in a roll over or head on collision..
Shit and typically trucks that look really clean are just vinyl wrapped to look good.. i bet that thing is a rust bucket underneath, you do know its a fact, most owners who keep there truck looking super clean inside and out typically secretly abuse there trucks at night.. Maybe he ties that bitch up and whips her who knows. Or secretly poring water in the oil... I bet he is... STAY AWAY.. CLEAN TRUCKS = BAD... go for the truck that you can clearly see all the damage maybe one that has been keyed or buy one out of the north east that has been driven heavily on the salt roads in the winter.. That way you know what you are getting.. Much better deal..

Why buy a truck with 500hp if your worried about the tires? Why own a fast truck if your gonna just putt around in it? Dont get me wrong i know a lot of you guys have really nice trucks and barely drive them. I drive mine around 400 miles a week and have gone through 3 sets of tires i drive it like i stole it, but i do routine maintenance on my truck but hey if its made to go fast im gonna go fast

Welcome to the deep end of the pool

I'm paying cash for a toy. I owned a 2005 QC, currently own a corvette and a family car. Surely I'm not worried about buying new tires. The "red flag" was directed towards the lie in the ad. If the tires are bald, say they're bald. Don't advertise the tires at 80% to 100% and change it to 30% when we talk on the phone. Should misinformation be a red flag? I think so.

I thought I mentioned the convo conflicting with the ad. I should have put that in the initial post. My bad. Trucks looks good, he did a FaceTime walkthrough. Nice guy.

Ya i get it he kinda lied about the tires not sure if its a red flag. Are you planning on looking at it in person? I wasnt trying to be a dick or anything guess i dont understand you or the guys on here that buy it as a toy mine is a daily driver and the only vehicle i own but i guess if i had other options to drive that were as fun then i guess i see your point plus i know from experience these trucks do get beat on and not taken care of

i hear you bro. i thought you were being a dick.
I just dont see why he wouldn't be up front about something so minor. i had to replace the tranny and power steering lines on my old QC (Tony hooked me up). Cars break all the time. These trucks can be a money pit if you arent careful. Buying an out-of-state car is risky. it makes me nervous when i smell a hint of dishonesty. I have a friend going to look at it tomorrow

Idk if I'd worry about the tires much. I know most people, when they sell a toy. Go play with it one last time. If it's been well maintained shoot them an offer. I have noticed the prices around me have gone up quite a bit recently. A lot more of them have been popping up too. But hey who knows. With the right angle and lighting I might even look pretty.
