Looking at becoming an owner soon. I've driven a few as my friend has owned 2. I want a RC. How many of y'all can share daily experiences. Maintenance and upgrades to keep it going for a long time ? Is it practical ? How affordable ?

Easy to daily. Did it when gas was 4.20/ gallon! That's expensive! Around 13mpg average. 75-100$ oil changes, tires, brakes, they can be daily driven and many do. Not the most efficient but will make you smile every mile:rock:

HA, HA, Just this week mine beast turned 130,000 miles. I get 21 MPG.
That is 9 in town and 12 on the highway. New math don't ya know.

Seriously I get 9 in town and on the highway at 60 mph I get 15 mpg and at 70 I get 12.5 and at 80 I get 10.5 and worth every penny. Hope to the 200,000 before I have to overhaul. :dontknow:

It can be done as long as the wallet is big enough to keep the tank full, thats the only limiting factor. The v10's are overall reliable as long as you monitor your oil levels and do oil changes.

If price is a factor its not the truck for you... Gas will cost you double what a performance car of similar performance would be. maintaining one correctly is not cheap. 10 quart oil changes for example. Tires arent cheap and dont last long. These trucks are over 10 years old and require parts here and there of which most you are going to pay a premium for. Aftermarket parts are also twice the price.

As far as the experience? I wouldnt trade it...... Waite a min. If it wernt for the Ohio winters i would have kept mine when i bought the Viper and daily driven it. I just started looking for a 02 RT/10 (keep the 06 of course) but ive recently thought about another RAM srt10...

Drive mine to work twice a week now..but it's great passing all of those stupid looking Prius's and econo boxed imports while doing 80.

Thanks for the replys everyone. The money for maintenance and gas is not a problem.replacing that V10 will be. That's my only concern. I come from a Chevy background... Every thing is cheap

I used to daily mine. For like 5 years. Now i have a lot of other cars and only drive the truck really when i have to.

Very reliable. Only left me stranded one time in 7 years of ownership.

170,000 miles and runs as good today as when I drove off the dealers lot. Its surprisingly been the most reliable vehicle I've owned.
