Anybody ran the standing mile race in SRT-10? We have the Texas mile and Im condidering it. If youve done the standing mile, what was your mph and final gear ( i figure 5th gear 140 mph).
I've only done 1/2 mile, but done 6-8 events in multiple cars and two SRT trucks. You will definitely be in 5th (you have to shift to 5th in the 1/2)... but I don't know how much you'll gain from the 1/2 to the full mile as 5th isn't geared for it. I would guess 130-135 in a stock truck. I do know 5th in an 05 RC hits the rev limiter at 164 and 4th in a Gen3 Viper hits the limiter at 161.
Mickey aka 1quiksrt did it a few years back her in FL. I believe he ran 158 mph. I think there maybe a video of him rowing through the gears on youtube.com
I was fired up and ready until i got to the cost...$450 for 2 days; $550 for 3 days! Im out! Hoping Hennessey charges less when they finish their mile course in Sealy, TX.
If you could find that it would be great! We're setting up a list for Ram SRT's in the 1/2 mile and I had believed Tony B. in the TT truck to hold the record at 152.
That's about going rate at any of these events. I'm 250/day at WGF or 450/2 day I believe. Just go for a day, what's the big deal?
You could get a good base run and see the progress over the years should you decide. It's a very fun sport. We have some Mile and 1/2 trucks here in Texas I've done. Parachutes included
I am not saying it's cheap, but price seems reasonable. Drag strips can be cheap as far as entry fees go, I have never been to a cheap road course.
