Well the truck up and died last week. had it towed to dealer took a few days for the viper tech to diag and they said PCM was fine but tipm was the problem and they cannot locate a replacement part. Seems this is a common problem with the 2006's

So now I am on a search for a tipm. I checked with Dan at Viper Specialty Performance and he has no stock. According to dodge all dealers are out of stock. hoping that someone has some idea of where to find a source for a new or remanufactored TIPM?

Thanks for the help!

I know someone who probably has one. Check out "The Viper Pit" on facebook.

update

Thanks, I will try the viper pit. I did just hear back from the dealer and they want to try bypassing the bad tipm connection using wires and a relay...similar to the fix that as been posted for later model dodge trucks where the headlight goes out due to a tipm issue..

Mine is doing the same thing and I just sent mine out today to see if it can get repaired. If anything comes good of it I will definitely let you know.

where did you send it to? the current status on mine is the dealer is goign to attempt to repair the tipm by bypassing the problem connection using - wiring in a relay that will bypass the internal board.

this is not an uncommon repair to avoid a costly module replacement. 2011-2013 (?) Grand Cherokees and Durangos had recalls in which they bypassed the fuel pump relay in the module and installed an external relay for intermittent no start conditions. I would not feel uncomfortable having that done by someone competent.

I sent mine to Automotive Scientific Inc. and it supposed to arrive there today. So in a day or two they supposed to let me know if they can fix it or not.

This was done on our 13 durango and it kinda pisses me off that they repaired it like I would have wired in something as a 16 yr old.

Yeah, depending on the quality of technician the repair can look half assed.

I found place that can fix them. When I get back home this weekend and put the tipm back on my truck I'll you know if yah or nah with this company that fixed it.

I just got my tipm back from being rebuilt and I've been driving it about 2 days and everything is good so far and it comes with a year warranty after they rebuild it. Here goes the link so you can get in touch with them. https://www.autoecu.com
You will to speak to Matt and this is the only place that will even think about touching our tipm. So don't wait too long cause they set up test bench so I had to wait about a month to get my tipm back but it's well worth it so far.

good deal, glad you found someone:rock: they are tough to find someone that will look at them

Just had my truck turn off while I was driving earlier this week. Had it towed to the nearest dealership and they said the exact same thing. Bad tipm, had to bypass. Is the tipm something that will just continue to deteriorate (faster than normal wear and tear) and eventually have to be replaced? Kind of once one relay goes bad the others will follow? I just made fun of someone who was thinking about trading in their 10, but I can understand it when the issues start stacking. These trucks are fun, visceral and loud, but I've put in about half as much as the truck is worth just repairing - I haven't even gotten headers, cai/drop in, SCT tune, new tires, manual tans swap, or a supercharger to add to the fun factor. Every time I'm about to pull the trigger on headers the truck is like, 'nope, f you, here's new issues 1 & 2'. I'm about to hog tie her ass and drag her in for an appraisal of whats left. Belangers are on sale right now; probably gonna miss out on that.

What was the cost for this repair? I’ve been out of commission for a long time because of mine.
