Silver05 update

Might check into the Lemon Law, maybe it applies??? You SNOWBACKS are mean LOL LOL

In Florida, Lemon laws do not apply to used vehicles UNLESS, you received a dealership/factory warranty with the purchase.

I recently went through the lemon law process with a 2016 Nissan suv. You definitely need all the paper work in order with dates and times from the dealership. They do not accept your hand written chicken scratch notes. And as I found out, the dealership may not be to helpful in giving you the records without a subpoena. Further more when I did finally get the records, they were incomplete. The 3 times I took it in and they had it for the afternoon and couldn't find any problems were not included.

I've never had mine off, but im not sure why except for a welded crossmember on a '04.
Is there something in the way up front and the pickup tube hang down too far?

too late to go out to the garage and check.

I know on my 05 it wouldnt come off could not get the motor jacked up high enough to remove the pan. Ya the welded cross member makes it a prob also

The pan will come off IF you block up the engine high enough (basically the bellhousing is touching the tunnel at this point). Ignore the welded crossmember as it isn't a problem.

It's all about the angle. :listen:

It's the Timing Chain cover that is nasty because the pickup tube is bolted to the bottom of the block and 90s into the TC cover at the bottom to feed the crank-driven oil pump. THAT has to come off first (before the TC cover can come off).

I've had my engine apart/out several times.

I guess the motor was up against the tunnel and could not go any higher but guess it could be possible. Ya the timing chain cover is rediculous

Mine is a QC so it's driveshaft off and tail-shaft down. 2x4s and 4x4s inserted between engine and mounts. Totally Hi-Tech !!

Yes the Gen II Timing Chain Cover wasn't like that, so we are just lucky I guess. ;)

So I got a call from the shop manager today and he said that, the exhaust had no pressure whatsoever, so they pulled the exhaust off at the headers and the truck runs fine, I told him I had the cat delete system I was about to install when it took a shit, he said they had 2 new cats installed and now it’s running perfect, the honeycomb fell apart and lodged in the exhaust

Um, what? They've had the truck for how long? How can any mechanic mis diagnose a clogged cat? Get as far away as possible and run not walk.

.....mildly retarded.....at times.

Holy crap it took them that long to find out it was a backpressre problem . So with that much pressure in the crank case I would also be worried about gaskets and seals. But on a good note at least they found the problem and it's fixed.

That’s odd they took that long to find that bro  but nonetheless it’s back up and running happy for ya bro :) but like some one said in this thread run don’t walk away from that dealership

I’m hoping that’s all that was wrong with it, funny thing is, the week it quit, the catless exhaust and new spintech mufflers with duals we’re going on and I was ordering a tune from Torrie that weekend

Well I paid $700 and picked the truck up today! Runs like a champ , so glad I didnt pay $6500 for used heads from back east !

Hell yeah! I can't believe it took them long to get it fixed but at least you know now!

Congrats man. It is a rare thing that you got off so easily and cheaply.

Now go enjoy your truck!

Yea, I have my cat delete Kit, I’m gonna get it tuned for $300 than do the complete exhaust

Glad you got to the bottom of it!!!
