Tire Size

Would I have any problems with 305/45/22 tires as opposed to 305/40/22?

I personally dont like the look. If its the Generals you are looking at, they also have a sidewall that stick out abnormally...

You want a cheap tire get a set of Nexens.

Performance wise they may hop and jounce around a bit more.

Im sure you will get mixed responses, stick around long enough someone will say the 45 series is the best and ONLY option..l0l

You want a cheap but good tire get a set of Nexens.

Been running 305/45/22's for 115,000 miles. Softer ride and only changes the speedometer reading by a mile or so at 80. A man would have to have pretty good eye sight to tell the difference in the 40 vs. the 45's without a built in self regulating mic------or a six pack of two of adult beverages.

The tire is over an inch taller overall. Someone who is use to eyeballing sizes can spot that easily.

Well, I wear hearing aids so that could be my problem telling the difference. Also just had my cataracts removed and realized those green things out the window have tiny leaves. :dontknow:

The aspect difference between the 40 and 45's is a little noticeable after I looked at a set mounted. I have the 40 generals like the look and tread pattern. I do not have any personal experience running a tire with a different aspect ratio. So as far as comfort and performance I can not say, but as far as look there is a little difference. This is best described as the difference between a true sport tire and a sporty like truck tire. To each their own I choose the 40's after looking at the 45's. Good luck. Think the difference is 3/4 of an inch in sidewall.
