Hey guys I have 05 srt10 regular cab been noticing exhaust filling my cab when defrost is on and sitting at idle.... i have a jmb catch can and a roe crankcase breather and i can see fumes coming from the breather on drivers side and smells like fuel... i also have a tune from unleashed just noticed the smell a few months ago... was wondering if i could run a hose from my air intake to my catch can to help with vacuum right now its plugged off ? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you

Most of us running a catch can, go from the valve cover to the can from the can to the cold air, that’s how it creates a vacuum

I was thinking same thing but the instructions with the jmb catch can say to plug the air filter off and the catch can has its own breather......should i remove the breather and run tube to my air intake? Thanks man!!

That's why I went to a closed Catch Can system (no air filter on top of the canister), so it didn't look like I had a 440 under the hood with bad valve cover gaskets. For the younger guys here that means smoke drifting between the fender and the hood.

Closed system= Zero smoke, Zero stink.

Remove catch can and be done! Raced them, build them, and have owned a few. Zero need for a catch can and I've put more miles than most here than most anyone. Overhyped and caused more issues than it relieved. They fill with condensation more so due to the install and location. My .02

If I remove the catch can should i close off the valve covers or run them back to stock? passenger side to air intake drivers side to intake manifold......the only reason I went with a catch can was to get rid of that burnt oil smell and to keep oil from seeping from my breather. Should I remove the breather too and put the cap back on? And yeah the only thing in the catch can was some rusty looking water.

The catch can isnt where the oil and steam is coming from it only has rusty water in it. The drivers side air breather is where the oil and fumes are coming from .Im afraid if I close it off completely it will only make more oil and fumes come out my breather.

Ive had the roe breather and catch can and got rid of both for the reasons you stated above OP. If I were to put on another catch can I'd go with a closed designed one.

Since im not stupid modified or anything I decided the stock configuration was good enough for me. I don't race my truck so it was no need for all of that stuff.

The reason I put the roe breather on was because my oil cap was constantly leaking oil I changed the cap with a aftermarket cap from autozone and it still leaked. Pissing me off having oil burning on my exhaust manifold

How many miles on this beast?
Sounds like hi manifold pressure. Tune running rich? CATS are know to fail maybe starting to restrict exhaust thus the smell........my 2 centa

92,000 .......could possibly be driver side cat thats where the smell is coming from......if the cat was bad wouldnt it throw a code? I shot torrie a email regarding my tune but i guess i could set it back to the stock tune to rule that out

Yes!! Put cap back on throw breather in trash. Reroute ventilation lines as factory.
