    FRONT WHEELS

    Hello:

I'm having an issue with my ABS because I have (2) radically different tire heights front to back, using my 17" drag radials and the OEM 22s, up front.

The rotating speed difference confuses the ECU and sometimes it forces the tranny to jump into O/D lockup immediately after wringing out second gear during a 1/4 mile pass. That is a definite buzz kill and drops the truck into the mid 12s.

It would be nice to be able to just "tune it out" but apparently it isn't possible to do that.

I do know I can get a 20" tire that would match the O/D of the M&H Drag Radial out back, solving the ABS issue.

Recommended vendors for a pair of 20" wheels?
Know of any light(er) weight 20" wheels that would work up front?
Or does anyone have a pair for sale?

    Thanks.

Put a manual in the truck, problem solved. :D

Have you thought about putting 20 inch ram srt-10 replica's on the front? Im sure they would at least be a little lighter than the stock 22's.

Have you tried disconnecting a wheel speed sensor? That usually Disables abs and traction control in most vehicles.

Earl: I didn't know that a 20" replica wheel existed, so I will check into this option. My wife loves to race the truck so a manual isn't an option here. With all systems go, my tranny works really well.

Arnie: My shift points are maxed out in my tune so if info from the wheel sensors is shut off, the engine tends to want to bounce off of the hard-limiter; which is generally ugly.

    Thanks fellas;

That's what makes a Forum, a Forum! :burnout:

Yeah, our OEM wheel style is a VERY popular wheel choice for non srt-10 dodge trucks. They dont cost that much either, check out ebay.

I'd throw the spare steel wheel on it with the right size tire and find another. Cheap and light.

I thought about that but it's 22 pounds heavier than our OEM wheels and weighs in at a whopping 97 pounds.

Your saying 1 wheel weighs 97 pounds or both fronts combine

    Dyslexic typo:

OEM 20" Goodyear spare with steel wheel is 79 pounds.

    Sorry for the confusion.
