Wow, you cant help yourself to find ways to drive down these truck values so you can turn em'. Yeah, since you joined 2012, it's obvious.
So, all that corrosion from a simple "drive in the mist" eh?!? Right! It's just typical of a northeast or rust belt vehicle that was driven in poor conditions. Even you brought in a choice vehicle from the southwest and you know first hand how dramatically different the condition is. Especially if kept indoors and not driven in inclement weather. ;)
No....no, no "polishing" or Armor-All", just clean and corrosion free and not driven in the rain or snow for that matter. It only needs a dusting once a year maybe.
Just cleaned before a picture? Try taking a look at my exhaust installation thread from spring of 2011.

    http://www.vtcoa.com/forums/f8/first-hand-look-billy-boat-exhaust-installation-48840/

    SAME.

The only "polishing" the truck has underneath is the absolute sweetest sounding and best performing exhaust made for these trucks done by B&B..:chain:
And really...since when does 14K miles dramatically drive down the value of a rare vehicle anyway?!? Driven regularly, pampered and put away clean. Just nice.:D

Can I pay you to do my truck next? Or maybe you could hook up with stealth78 on the next truck he sets up to turn, he could use a good chassis detailer!:D

So this is what this forum has come to? I figured I would share the sale of my truck, so I stared a thread the other day (only one reply) plenty of wondering eyes though. Here we are today and, low and behold, another member completely low balling the value of these vehicles:dontknow: A lot has changed since I joined the club back in the day. Don't know your situation, but as a fellow owner GLWS.

With all due respect my friend I am by no means low balling these trucks value, I am stating facts. I believe months ago I told this seller he could probably get upper $2X,000. If you think that is low balling for a 40,000 mile, 13 year old truck, my apologies. The reality is that there are far superior vehicles that can be had for mid $30K range. Sorry to inform you but those vehicles have also depreciated, some a lot more than $20K.

Dude! I’m with you. Most people here are assholes. If you want their stuff it’s worth gold, but if they want yours it’s crap and only worth the free stuff on Craigslist. Wtf? If I have to pay everyone should have to pay.

I really hope you're not implying that I am an asshole. If you go back to the beginning of this thread you will clearly see that I am not and was not trying to drive prices up to sell and low ball to buy. I sold two SRT-10 Rams and one Viper over the past few years, all of which, including the one in this thread, we're sold at very reasonable prices. My last truck had 26K miles and I had also just put thousands of dollars worth of upgrades into it. The buyer was extremely pleased with the selling price of $23,000. This forum/club used to be very tight nitch. I have met many people through this club and all of which I had become friends with. Nowadays this place has really turned into an internet war zone. I'm not exactly sure how I became an asshole when providing very fair deals on my last 3 sales. These trucks do have the ability to become collectable but that takes time, and typically collectables that bring a premium are low mileage examples. All of these trucks if taken care of have the ability to appreciate in value, BUT if your intentions are to look at your truck as an investment, there are much better places to invest your monies.

No! I was saying most people are. Because they want the trucks for free. Until they try to sell them. Then they want top dollar. I would never try to sell my truck on here again. I was getting my hip replaced and was going to sell me C.E. Because I didn’t think I’d be able to drive it. And the best offer was 23k. That’s not kool!

If you set the price that you think is fair which I think the price you have on the one you are trying to sell is fair. And people beat you up over it they are the asshole.

Let's keep in mind the OP's opening statement...

"I don't want to come off like a jerk but please spare me from any low-ball offers"

Now that's rich is it not? :D

Hey a$$hole, when starting out at an asking price of $23,000 when I had just put thousands of dollars into it, I had ground to stand on. How's that sale working out for you anyway? People must be pounding your door down to try and buy that 40,000 mile truck for $35,000, right??? Man, you are relentless. I think it's comical that you are even offended that I told you a long time ago that your truck is probably worth around $28,000.

Yes, yes, "I'm an A$$HOLE".

ESPECIALLY when it comes to members who are on here to buy cheap, abused and poorly maintained examples of these trucks, dump in a few components to regain drivability, give em' a bath and then turn em' for a small profit.

Members, do not sell your truck to this guy. Even if your desperate. He is now in the hunt for QC's to further diminish average resale values.

The beauty of my RC is. I don't NEED to sell it. I keep it in EXCELLENT condition and your prediction of my truck selling for 28K will never happen. Primarily because I would not let it go that low. EVER. It's paid for and you cannot replace it (Feature for feature / option for option) with anything in your theoretical price range. I mean really.... what kind of truck / trim level do you get for 28K now days?

    Not much: https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for...List=DODGE,RAM&searchRadius=25&driveGroup=RWD

    Well said brother:rock:

I bring my truck to the auto fair every weekend to see if I can get any bites. I actually had a guy offer me 22K, and tell me the truck isn't as desirable because it's a manual transmission. People are out of their mind with their rationalizations. I had to take a deep breath, lol.
