Hello everyone,

I'm in the market for 1 of these trucks and could use some guidance and experience from anyone that wouldn't mind helping out. I've been doing my research on these trucks and I'm while I'm not new to high performance vehicles, I am new to Dodge's.

An '05 QC (in flame red) came up for sale. The asking price is 22k and has 50k miles. From the pics and car fax, it's pretty clean and no issues/accidents/ect. I talked with the dealer and set up a test drive Saturday.

Just so happens an '06 QC (inferno red) came up for sale yesterday. Their asking price is 22k and it has 50k as well. The only "issue" right now is they just had 1 pic of it and didnt have the car fax for it. I know cause I called and asked for more pics and the car fax. So I'm waiting to hear back from that...but in that dealership is on my way to work so I may just stop by tomorrow or Friday)

Anywho, sorry for the lengthy post, but is there any real difference between the 2? From what I've seen is the 06 has different seats (more like a true center console) and alittle more small updates. Performance wise is it the same as the '05? Reason I ask is as much as the '05 has more information available and i like red.... the darker (inferno) red i like MUCH more.

Performance wise they will be the same.

The biggest difference will be the exterior and interior. 06 was a mid-cycle refresh year for the 3rd gen ram. Another big difference is that the 06 has the TIPM which is prone to failure and causes problems that is 06 only related. The 04-05 do not use TIPM and dont have the related issues.

good to know. thanks.

seems like these trucks, being as special as they are, have alot of very expensive ECU's. :/

Whichever one you decide to go with, seriously consider a T56 swap. It completely changes the truck from a good truck to an amazing truck.
I have loved my 05 though. The 06 looks more aggressive in a way.

Ehh... maybe. I did the whole manual thing in my late teens and 20s. That clutch pedal gets old. Specially if in traffic.
