Anything new on throttle bodies? I see Roe was sold. Is it BBK? Or send stock to Dan?

BBK is what I have. I had a JTSVP one but the truck would not idle. After sending it back and fourth twice to them I bought a BBK and its been perfect for years.

I have a bbk and I had the issue with it hanging up and the idle being high the time

Any issues that I should be aware of with the stock throttle body?

What may be the benefits of a larger throttle body in the RAM SRT-10?

Stock throttle body doesn’t give any issues. It just doesn’t help if you want power gains. If you are gonna do a few bolt on’s just make sure you have it tuned as soon as you’re done so you can actually see and feel the difference, otherwise you will most likely just lose power.

leave throttle body...... Add BOOST!! :burnout: these big engines can do amazing numbers with air..... Push air past the throttle body..... :)

They are like a giant air compressor, loving that air

No issues with the stock throttle body. The BBK is simply larger. Allows the engine to pull in more air quicker. Noticeable increase in throttle response and its like 10 horsepower or something.

ok.... ok.... I AM GONNA SAY IT....BBK's are finicky as Fu#k! 90% of us, that have them, suffer with the dreaded "pulse idle" and "idle hang". I figure the return spring is to weak to properly return the flappers back to the idle adjustment screw. Not worth the 7 hp..... Save your money and buy Rum.... :D

I have an old X-metal throttle body. It's worked great for me, it also has the nozzle for the first nitrous kit I ever put on the truck.

There was no HP gain from going to a large single blade, confirmed on a dyno.

You dont need it but its actually a safety feature. If the engine is rushing you need something to stop that and the easiest way is to force the throttle grip back to idle position.

I might send my stock one to Dan, he bores them out to 65mm and maybe no hanging idle issue, the bbk is 67mm plus the added bonus of the idle hanging up

I have a BBK and I’ve heard a lot about these idle issues but have not experienced them once after some adjustments. I think I experienced more issues with the JTSVP TB that I bought off ViperPete some time ago (obviously that wasn’t his fault as it was in good condition) but I can’t help but think that it just varies from person to person based on preference.

I had a X-Metal on my first truck, and a JTSVP on my VCA with on issues on either.

I took my blades out of my bbk, Sanded then down with some Emory cloth and did the same to the inside of the Tb , unfortunately I didn’t get to test it before the engine gave up , so maybe when I get it back , I’m gonna get my stock one done by the dan to have as a back up
