152,000 miles with over 100K on these wires I need to replace. When it rains for 2-3 days the beast misses until it drys out. Pretty sure it is the wires as one was messed up and repaired. Dry is seems to be just fine but like me, things are not what they used to be and with this many miles it is time to replace. What wires are recommended? Will go back with the Champion plugs as always.

Can't hear any valve noise (others can't either) so do I need to replace springs and lifters? Trying to get by with the least spent as I know I will be in for a new engine build in the not to distant future.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

If it were me, plan on a stock head rebuild including lifter improvement and hope the bottom end holds up for another 50K. Also, do coils and Tony's wires. Precut and worth every penny.
:)

I plan to rebuild my engine completely at 150k.
Changing wires sucks ass. The intake manifold is a PITA to get off. Every time I remove it about 80% of the way through, I remember the "trick" to doing it fast LOL.

Might as well do new coils while your in there.

Leakdown/Compression check is a must with all those miles. If all cylinders are good. just do plugs and wires until you are ready for a complete rebuild. I am sure your driving style isn't what it used to be and ,driven conservatively, these engines are SOLID!

Thanks much, in the 150K miles she has never been to the track and never hit 3rd when racing in Mexico. Haven't raced anyone in 20K miles and very seldom open it up. At least 120K miles were on the highway so really not raced more than my old 02 Ram. Mostly playing with the diesel boys in my country town for a block of so then let off.

Will do the compression check and if all is well, plugs and wires.

Thanks again

I did 180108 miles in my 06 till a valve spring broke:( Tony rebuilt the whole thing 2900 miles later and now a Garage queen, ( except the weekends)
