I have a 06 QC, looking to replace the trans that is having issues. No I don't want to swap to a T56.
Looking to buy outright no core. or return core after swapped out. I'm located in Washington state. Question I have is, Is the diesel 48RE the same transmission? Thanks

I have looked at HTS web site any input on their builds?

Yes it is but there a calibration differences in the valve body and mods you should be doing to operate at a higher rpm than the diesels.
I had one of the HTS valvebodies for a short time but it had ridiculously hard shift points even under light throttle.
I had my entire tranny rebuilt locally with a custom valve body (no shift-kit required) billet goodies and go-fast pieces. I went through a few shops before finding this guy who knew these transmissions.
They can be problematic units until they are properly rebuilt and calibrated.

Unless you are racing your truck full time I'd caution 'ya on installing red eagle clutches as they are designed to grip at wot (only) and aren't made for much street use.

I went through 2015 learning all about the 48RE.

Had mine rebuilt in Stafford Texas by the guy that builds trannys for Hennessey. Rebuilt at 48,000 miles and just turned 155,000 with zero problems. But---only race in Mexico.

Thanks for the reply, I have read many of your threads.
This 10 has 60,000 mile on it and don't plan to race, but to tow my RC to the track.

Looking for a trans that will last.
From what I have read and issue I'm having it looks that I need Gov pressure solenoid, traducer.
Got on it once an it when into neutral, rev high and no go, then was just find and it does the back and forth shifting.

Prior owner change the filter and put a tran temp and gauge in, the needle never moves on the gauge.

    thx Adam

Sounds like your transmission needs some help. It likely was not Nuetral but was slipping badly enough that it felt like it!
It would be a waste of time and money to do a fluid change and/or a band adjustment on it as it needs to be fully rebuilt once it starts to slip.
If you can obtain one, have the rebuilder use a gold-can transducer from a 1999 diesel transmission. They work and are far more reliable than the one that is available for the 48RE.
One of the main concerns are the solenoids. Some like the GM Solenoid from their 4L80E transmission BUT they won't raise the dead. Use those during the tranny rebuild.
I use those solenoids and they work fine.
Again, high recommendation for Commercial Powertrain in Balzac Alberta if you want to ship it.

    Good luck.
