My auto would not go into park or reverse. Mechanic found the broken chingale that connects with the neutral safety switch and effects the shift lever. Question, would you change the solenoids as well. Never once giving a problem in over 100K miles. Why fix is it ain't broke?

I agree , if it ain’t broke why fix it ... defiantly look for possible problems though and clean everything up .. a transmission enema lol. How does the fluid look .. any particles / clutch or metal shavings in the pan or n the filter ?

Only the small u-shaped yoke that works the neutral safety switch and allow full travel of the shifting lever is broken. Fluid looked and smelled as brand new---zero in the pan except for the broken part and never had to adjust the bands. All look very good. We plan to replace the part, flush the entire transmission, refill and see if all is well. Remember I to a hard launch off the line maybe 10 times in a 100K---mostly hit it in second and third while playing on the highway in Mexico. She downshifts and blasts off. At 5600+ pounds I just don't see much need in a hard launch unless it is a farm boy in daddies diesel.

Sounds good ... I would just do the service as you stated .. and let it roll ... then test it like that farm boy in daddies diesel lol
