After almost three years of ownership and similar amount of time lurking around here, its time to post!
My name is Chuck and I have a 2005 regular cab with 28,500 miles. When these trucks came out, I wanted one real bad...but couldn't afford it at the time. I was working at a Chrysler/Jeep dealer, but never saw a Ram SRT in for service. (plenty of SRT 300s and Grand Cherokees, however)
Fast forward to 2016....I had an itch for a modern Hemi car, but wanted a manual trans. The 6.1 Challengers were still a bit out of my price range and then one evening it hit me- RAM SRT 10 regular cabs had manuals!
I happened to come across the truck I ended up buying on ebay- it was about 4.5 hrs away, 20,000 miles, no winters. I contacted the seller after the auction ended with no bids and made a deal. Turns out my truck was originally a Daimler Chrysler marketing vehicle (what they did with it, I don't know) and was sold at auction with a bit over 3000 miles on it in 2006. It went to Arizona for a few years and then the guy I bought it from picked it up in 2011 at 11,000 miles.
When I assumed ownership, it still had its original Pirelli's (with 2005 date codes) and the original pinkish Mopar air filter! Thankfully it did not have its original oil and oil filter! With the help of this forum's archives, it tended to all the maintenance and performed a few upgrades over the past couple of years.
Its been a fun and useful vehicle- I've moved twice with it and made countless runs up to Home Depot. I don't see it going anywhere for bit (unless the Jeep Trackhawks somehow magically loose 50+ percent of their value), ha!
