If you drive at 148 miles per hour all day long, you should be fine.

Would be fun to be able to do that ! Most of the tires I’ve looked into or have put on the truck have very similar ratings ... always thought it was over kill.
The only ones I’ve found that really improve traction massively and extremely improve launch ... but don’t carry that high speed rating are in the pic below ... really a great tire specifically made for our trucks ...

It's encouraging to find 22 inch tires that are the right size.

FWIW, I bought these a few months ago and so far I love 'em!

Care to explain what makes you feel that way?

Goodyear Fortera is what I replaced the original tires with, same size, great traction.

Any new tire will provide improved grip over the aged tire it is replacing. HOWEVER, the factory fitted Pirelli Scorpion Zero running the recommended 38 PSI will provide the best overall traction, handling, load & speed rating as well as being the LIGHTEST tire available for the truck. The ONLY tire that was "slightly" lighter and a "touch" grippier was the discontinued BFG KDW's.

I have them, too. I like them much more than the two sets of Toyos before.

Khumos were a much better ride than the Pirellis... and lasted a decent amount longer .. not to mention the cost difference is massive ... Pirelis felt like they had flat spots after sitting and needed to warm up before they smoothed out , definitely not worth putting them on again ...
Nexen is what I have on the truck now ... I compare them to the Khumos .. both excellent tires with basically the same ratings as the pirelis at better than half the cost .. both the Khumos and the nexens have out lived the mileage of the pirelis ..
there are or was many threads on here discussing tires .. do a search .. might find some more that interest you ...

Ride? Longevity? Cost? I am talking tire "Performance". Tire ratings are not comparative from OEM to OEM. If you want the best PERFORMING tire on this heavy beast, go with the OEM Pirelli. Ultimate traction, cornering grip and STABILITY are the rewards. If your ride sits long enough, you up the tire pressure to maximum (50 PSI) while stored.

My experience was that with the OEM Pirelli if you live with a lot of rain you won't like them They truly sucked in the rain. I have a set of Contenital and absolutely love them. When I need to replace them if I can't get any more there's Nitto.

True, they are not designed to be a rain tire. If you performance drive the truck in the rain, you are asking for trouble.

This clip is the reason the SRT team chose this tire and recommended PSI for the truck....

Yes cost ,,, tire rack is the cheapest I’ve seen for the Pirellis !
The Khumos I ran were less on cost than the ones at tire rack !
And added a few others for good measure .
As you can see the wear rating , speed ratings , load ratings etc are very close .. the Khumos I had lasted 15k miles longer than the original Pirellis .. the Nexens I run now have out last the Khumos and plenty of tread left , will most likely double the mileage I get out of them compared to the Khumos .. ratings on the nexens is close also but I believe with a higher wear rating than both the others ... Pirellis have a higher speed rating .. but who the hell is going to run sustain speed on the road of 168 mph lol.... the difference in price will buy you a SCT tuner with 3 tunes , a aftermarket jtsvp or BBK throttle body , a modified transmission valve body , or an assortment of other performance parts ,, new plug wires , caltracs etc .. traction with the tires isn’t even enough to notice the difference... the ride is better with the nexens then the khumos over the Pirellis imo by a long shot ... the Pirellis di stink on traction in the rain even worse after I installed the sun past transmission valve body ... easy take off from a stop would break traction on the first shift ... Khumos and nexens don’t have that problem even after the valve body has been installed.. pretty much I consider the Pirellis as a just paying for the name tire and a waste of extra dollars that can be used for other mods .
Seriously most of the people that own these trucks drive them on the streets and aren’t going to run a road course .. maybe head to the drag track and run a few laps .. but then wouldn’t you want slicks for that ? You also have to remember the SRT engineers or whatever you call them were building a truck to get in the Guinness book of world record as having the fastest high speed truck in the world and in my opinion they needed a tire that had a speed rating of 168 mph lol.

Everything you just stated reinforces my argument. The Pirelli's wear out faster because they are softer. They do not excel in the rain because of silicon content, they have more "rubber" per say. They cost more because of the high level of construction and still keeping weight to a minimum. They handle the extreme loads this truck can exert on the tires (Stiffer sidewalls thus a firmer "ride"). You do not need to go to the trucks top speed to benefit from that .

Keep in mind, as tires age (even a few years), the rubber will harden and loose the grip this truck requires to perform to the optimum levels. Comparing old Pirelli's to a new tire is NOT a valid comparison. I would replace the tires every two years or so even though they had great tread depth. I would easily sell the "take-off's" to others on Craigslist. When it comes to tire ratings on the side wall, you CAN NOT compare them from manufacturer to manufacturer. They ALL have their own rating scales. You can however, use them to compare one Nexen to another Nexen for example.

Granted, you drive a QC and a lot of owners will use them as daily drivers, so your suggestions may be good for that. However, when it comes to pure performance and handling, I utilized the stock tire. When it comes to all out grip, I'll take an RC with Pirelli's over another with any of the cheap tires on it and run circles around it. From hard acceleration, cornering, braking and high speeds, the Scorpion Zero excels!! I can attest to everything from 1/4 mile and achieving just under the 1.9 second 60ft. (@38 psi). Run slick's?!? Nope, not if you want to start breaking parts. Review some of the discussions on this forum to fully understand what's involved and damage that's ensued when running them. You sir, need to also remember that the SRT engineers did not ONLY build the worlds fastest Pickup truck, they built a BEAST that can deceptively out maneuver most sports cars (RC, not QC) when cornering through tight canyon roads and round-a-bouts in addition to high speed 90-140+ MPH sweepers on highways, the RC with Pirelli's can deliver.

Have you ever watched this? Remember, the RAM SRT-10 is the mother of all SRT's....

Who said anything about performance driving in the rain ? Let me make it perfectly clear, just NORMAL conservative driving in the rain the pirelli tires suk!

Like I stated, if you push the truck in the rain, your in for a whole lot of trouble regardless of tire choice.
