I've read quiet a bit on this issue seeing that some had different types of issues mine is hanging at a high rpm after I let off the gas I tap it it goes down. So I'm assuming my blades are sticking which after feeling it with my hands and inspection I'm almost certain. But since there is so much info on this subject did anyone actually come up with a solution that fixes this issue?

I had the same issue with the BBK on my truck. The throttle arm would not close completely when the engine bay was hot (stop go traffic in the summer). Tapping the accelerator would "snap" it back closed.

I contacted BBK, emailed pictures, and then sent in the throttle body for them to examine. I never heard what they determined to be the culprit, but they did send me a new replacement throttle body for free (1 year warranty from purchase date).

The replacement throttle body worked perfect all this summer.

You could remove the throttle body and have a real close look at where it is binding. Coating the edges of the butterflies with a thin layer of paint or (?) might reveal a high spot once you open and gently close it a few times. If you find there is a spot that is binding a small Dremel would work for removing just enough material from the throttle body to prevent it from snagging.

I have one of those offending BBK's. Not sticking plates, but rather bad spring tension. I made a secondary return spring from a piece of steal and an old return spring bolted to the cable retaining bracket. Didn't add much tension to the pedal but got rid of the problem. Then the cruise control refused to work smoothly.

The best fix was to put my single blade TB back on. No problems there at all.

Message cherry performance and ask them what the problem is or was on the throttle bodies .. this was a problem since they first sold them .... maybe they will give you the answer !
Or check into jtsvp.com and get a new one from Tony ..

I run the BBK from cherry performance and was in on the first group buy years ago .. haven’t had a problem until just recent .. my guess is mine just needs a good carb cleaner spray down .. cherry may not be around any longer ...
so go to https://www.bbkperformance.com/performance-throttle-bodies.html

I just emailed BBK .. I’ll see what they say .

my bbk did this as well, i ended up taking the blades out and lightly sanded them by hand then when i put them back in i centered them in the housing with 3 equal feeler gauges (.003" if i remember right). it been good ever since.

I had the same issues with mine, emailed bbk numerous times, asked if I could send it in and just pay to get it fixed , but they kept saying there was no known issue , I also sanded them down and tried to center them in , unfortunately the engine took a shit before I figured it out , I also replaced the tps, and iat

I added a return spring to mine. Seemed to help, but on cold mornings, it still surges abit...... I think it is a tune thing..... AIC gets confused, maybe, by the size of the blades and the amount of air required to idle properly...... Make sure the throttle plates are not binding in the bores by using the idle adjustment screw. When it seems to surge, open the hood and make sure the plates are resting on the screw.

Quick and easy fix... Buy a can of Blaster Chain/ Cable Lubricant. This stuff is made with Teflon. Spray your linkage, cable wires. I had the same problems you guys are having with the BBK throttle sticking . This solved my problem, with the throttle sticking.

My blades were actually getting caught inside, even by hand I would try to turn them and they would be tight, kind of like bottle getting air pressure than trying to release it

The problem ended up being spring tension BBK knows they devolped a faulty product and all they offer is a warranty where you get a new one which was fine by me but before they got back to me I just went and grabbed a spring the right size off a carb I had laying around and made a return spring since the throttle body has an extra clip point it worked perfect but going to be sending it back for a new one

Just to let everyone know BBK is worthless Ass company I get a quick email back to start with I fill out all the paper work for warranty I send it to every email that they offer never heard anything told them I would just return the part if I didn't hear anything. So that's what I did. So for one BBK products suck IMO I've used them on a few other vehicles and I've had this same outcome with faulty products and 2 they act like they want to get you taken care of but when it comes down to it they really don't care

Thanks for this info, I recently was looking at the BBK Throttle Body. What's a good brand that you might recommend?
