We are really spoilt here in the USA with abundance of choices for our 10's our fellow members in other countries do not have lol!!!
We end up making our own or inventing stuff. That is one of the spin offs of a far away island. Over the 150 years we have had to be more self reliant, although the internet has changed that a lot. One mouse click, pay the dolleros and one day it arrives. Most exhausts are fabricated here, way cheaper than trying to import one. However most mufflers are imported. I had a 68 Buick Riviera and it was going to cost $2500 for a good system from TA in AZ. I had one made local for $1200 and swapped mufflers until we liked the sound then welded them in
Sounds like my 10 and all I did was to delete the small resonator or muffler towards the tail pipes lol!!!
Not a big deal, it lives in NZ with the steering wheel on the wrong side. AND the price of gas is $8/gal. So how wrong is that
Actually just got back inside. Working on assembling a garden shed (about my least favorite thing to do). Instructions are terrible (translated too many times perhaps) and dimensions for the sub-floor were wrong.
Was thinking of going outside 12C not actually raining for a change, just cold damp yuck weather...our winter. Maybe chuck the wife in the truck and go for a ride to the Old Parakao Store for lunch (Google it) Cool place nice people. Not fancy city stuff but ol' kiwi backwater stuff. One step up from dirt floor, pioneer days
Damn, $8 per gallon? I can see why you only drive the Beast only a few times a week or month. Might as well buy a Prius.... On a side note, I had my JTSVP underdrive pulley installed on Friday. WOW, what a difference the smaller pulley makes. My truck has a quicker response from a dead stop, or just cruising down the road. Put's a big smile on my face. And, sitting at a light, AC on full blast, and lights on, the alternator still puts out around 13.9 volts. The needle sits just at the left edge of the "14" mark at idle, and once driving, it's at 14 - 14.1 volts. Pleasantly surprised. If ya'll don't have one on your stock engine, I might recommend getting one, you won't be disappointed. https://shop.jtsvp.com/product.sc?productId=665&categoryId=206
Yeah it is on the wish list next to the oil refinery lol Glad you posted about underdrive pulley. I am going to do that when I replace the serp belt.
Hey Kiwi, replace the pulley and belt at the same time to get the sizing right. I had a buddy that made, and we used to sell the U/D pulleys for the Gen III and they were a popular item. I've run one for years.
Yeah I thought it was a pretty sound plan. By the time I turn it into Kiwi peso + Freight + 15% tax it isn't that cheap anymore. It will happen One day I will take the belt off and check it and low and behold I need a new one. Seems silly not to change pulley too......then I should be roughly.....7500HP hahaha Well if all the manufacturers are right with their claims, do the math lol. Until it goes on the dyno or track. Good old fashioned dose of reality.
