Just fired up my beast for the first time, the oil pressure was running at 70psi at idle. I'm running 0-40 Mobil 1 with a Mopar filter, seams high to me....

When the engine was stock, mine was 75 cold, 35 at idle (warmed up) and 60 at 2800 (warmed up).

You mentioned that you were using a mopar filter was it the VIPER designated filter or the SRT filter?

Yes, a WIX should be good and safe.
I'm at 100 psi on a cold start but still a long way from blowing a filter off the base.

It's amazing what a mess that makes.

I'll just leave that to the trained professionals (don't try this at home)

I like to think I learn from other peoples mis...experiences so I don't have to go through all the pain and suffering.

Like eating leaded-paint chips, siphoning leaded gas (white lips), playing with blasting caps, throwing center-fire 22 shells at rock piles, rolling mercury around in your hands, etc.

If you don't experience this stuff, you haven't lived. However, if you continue to do any of them for an extended period of time, you will likely die.
