I'm looking at replacing my inop single DIN receiver. Does anyone happen to know a website to purchase a double DIN? I looked at Crutchfield, they have receivers I want, but are out of stock of the double DIN and parts needed. Or does anyone on here happen to have the set up laying on a bench somewhere that you might like to sell?

My Granddaughter was watching me load 6 Cd's into mine and asked me: "Where are those plates going"?

I'm not sure why it is still working but it is.

Are you wanting to upgrade? If there are car audio places in your area, maybe they could help ya out.

I always thought the factory system sounded pretty good. They will never sound as good as a good home system but still pretty good.

So what did you tell your granddaughter where the plates went, to be washed? Oh the innocence of babes, life is bliss for them. How old is she? I also have a granddaughter, she will be 8 on Nov 25th, the same birthday as my son, go figure.
As for the stereo, someone removed the factory one way before my ownership. I've got a single DIN broke ass Kenwood, quit working literally 30 minutes after I bought the truck, LOL! Checked the fuses etc. I wouldn't mind buying a touch screen system, don't care if it takes CD's or not. But, like you said, I guess I should just hit up Best Buy, or a local audio place.

We have 5 Grand-kids ranging in age from 2 to 17: 4 girls and 1 boy.

The "plates" remain a partial mystery to the 2 year old although she did mention that soup could run through the hole in the middle.

I have the OEM radio thingy wrapped in bubble wrap. I will get it checked over and refitted. There was a big doof doof amp thingy that was taken out before I bought, so back to OEM it will go. I had a 2003 Jeep Cherokee Sport (Liberty) it had the same system and worked well. Anyway I have no need for sounds when driving. I let the truck talk to me.
I can't even read what it says on the aftermarket radio, let alone figure out how it works, hate it.

Yeah, the Kenwood I have is garbage, and doesn't work, unless I bang on the face. Not worth the effort. I went and bought the biggest Bluetooth speaker I could find, and just connect to my phone with Pandora. The speaker kicks out 160W of power, so the cab gets to thumping pretty good, LOL. I noticed the factory amp that's under the center console was disconnected by a previous owner, so I don't know if my factory stuff works or not. Since I have other upgrades for the truck, my bluetooth speaker works good enough for me, until I can get a new receiver.

Well, with the exhaust system you have, I have no doubt about that. Question, where did you get the factory receiver? Didn't think they were available anymore.

Came with it. Someone had removed it but was good enough to keep it with the truck. 2 owners ago

Kiwi I am a stickler for keeping all things original. My 10 stereo is as good as my other rides even better and I turn it up after smoking the fords and chevy wannabes lol!!!!!

Yes, I will get it set up again. I should do it myself.....but wife says NO! Apparently I am not so good with door linings and dash panel removal. They always crack/break or never quite fit properly afterwards lol
My truck is a really early one Dec 10th 03

Today I refitted my OEM Stereo. I only took 4 hrs lol. Getting old and slow. Had to pull half the truck apart to get rid of the aftermarket wiring and reconnect the original wires. I was lucky all the plugs were still there. Big amp under seat, out it goes
At least I know how to operate the OEM package. It is working well:)

All speakers sound good with no crackling, etc? I managed to get my POS Kenwood working, sounds ok but passenger front is crackling.

Yes it sounds good to me. Not that I use it on the road. It is all about living the truck when I hit the road, living, smelling, feeling, listening. No radio will ever be polluting that.
Otherwise I may as well have a Camry

What a piece of junk. Ruining a perfectly good Dodge Dash.
