I just installed some ARH long tubes and one of the headers is touching the trans. I used Mopar MLS gaskets. Anyone else have this problem? I wasn't able to move the pipes to get clearance. I can push the pipes and they will bend away. Should I try harder to lift the rear of the pipe for clearance? Different gasket? Should I put a piece of high temp silicone hose there? I guess I could grind it down a bit. I'm kinda bummed I have to mess with it to make it work

I have used 1.5" Home Depot Ratchet Tie Downs to bend my long tube stainless headers.
Stainless is kind of soft, so if you don't have stainless, it might not work.

It's not unusual to have to finesse headers into place. Use straps to bend them away a bit.

Thanks, I didn't know that. I put in a very slightly thicker gasket and filed down the trans a little. I'm about to torque it down and see. I'm wondering how much clearance I need there.

Yes, even in 2020 it seems that fabricating a header that simply bolts up is a challenge. Mine took a ratchet strap and a bolt extender to twist the flange into position. Shouldn't be that way on a pair of headers that were $2795.
After a few hot/cold cycles they DO relax into position.

I got my pipes used from a salvage yard for 800. It took a lot of work to get them shine again. The idiot that had them before me had the right side welded to 3" steel and the left 2.5", lol. It was a little challenging to tig a 304 vband to it but it turned out nice...I did green cats and I've got some moroso spirals to try out. It's going into my old magnaflos.
