Thanks GS!
I am a torque-whore and that's what I'm after.
I'd be very happy with the 50 lbs. feet provided by the Gen II intake but if it was more using Strikers (with larger capacity Intake ports), very cool!
Torque is what made a remarkable difference with the "performance flash/tune" for the Quad Cabs. A whopping 80 lbs. feet of torque "under the curve" aka "on it's way up to peak torque" and that increase chopped a full second off of the QC. Arguably, there would have been a 1/4 mile performance improvement by eliminating TQ management at the same time, as the tunes did, so that 1 second reward is all-inclusive.
I'm certainly not expecting anywhere near a full second (which would put me in the 10s), but my current camshaft phases at the same rpm the Gen II intake's ram-effect happens. This means yet ANOTHER tune if it all goes as planned. Otherwise, it will likely try to ride the knock-sensors during a 1/4 mile pass.
I don't know of anyone that's tried this swap on a truck as there is a considerable amount of fartin' around.
Just looking around, the Driver-Side throttle body would be close to the thermostat housing but the one for the Viper cars is more out of the way and might be the solution.
I've heard of guys with the cars using the Gen III (thinking it was an "upgrade", which it isn't), but not a Gen II on our trucks.
EBay...
Walker Evans (?) May be ported and/or extrude honed.
Manifold #3 might be fun.
