I going through some pictures of RAM SRT-10 that I have taken in the past and found a picture of a RAM SRT-10 that had a non OEM rear sway bar along with the OEM sway bar. I would like to put that setup on my 2006 RAM SRT-10. Does any one know where I can get this setup form. I don't know where I got the picture from.
Note: The Sway Bar I want is the one at the rear closest to the spare tire.

I am looking to get better handling. If it does that, then I want. Does any one know if this setup give better handling. That's the only reason.

The only reason you would want to stiffen up the rear sway bar would be to reduce front end "push" or "under-steer". In my spirited driving experience with the RC is that the FRONT is VERY well planted. Rear over-steer is more likely dependent on throttle input and merely "throwing" the truck into a tight corner. I have also experienced the rear end coming around if the truck is "unloaded" in a corner with throttle applied (like a mid corner rise in the road).
One of the BEST things I did with my RC to improve overall handling and rear grip is FRESH Pirelli tires (not cheap, heavy rocks) with OEM air pressure (38 psi), poly bushings on the rear leaf springs, shackles and poly sway bar bushings front + rear. Bushings minimized twisting of the stiff, heavy leafs which induced "rear steer". Sway bushings make the most of the well balanced OEM units. That combined with a QA-1 kicker shock set to max completely calmed down the rear of the truck and made it very well balanced with the front.
Keep in mind that even though the rear end on the RC is stout and stiff, the torque from the engine multiplied by the overall gear ratios can still "manhandle" the suspension. The factory tries to find a balance between handling and ride comfort. Once the poly bushings are in, the ride will stiffen up. However, it really starts to pay dividends once you are hustling corners in the 80 mph + range!!
Finally, be a "smooth" driver. Get the truck to transfer the weight and load to the tires in a progressive fashion. If you ham hand it like a knuckle head, you will toss it into the ditch. ;)

Cheers!!

Tell me more about this QA1 Kicker shock shock. Do you buy a pair for the rear of the truck, only? Do I keep the OEM on the front. Is there a part number for the QA1 Kicker shock.

The "kicker" shock is the lateral shock above the axle. I got mine from JMB Performance.

Note: this kit only helps with traction. This upgrade along with the poly leaf spring and shackle bushings tremendously reduced the wheel hop at the drag strip during up-shifts. Now, when the poly bushings are added to the leaf eyes and shackles, the "rear-steer" will be virtually eliminated.

Cheers!

2nd sway bar is a Belltech/Hellwig sway bar. That’s 6speedquadcab’s truck.

Are you familiar with that truck and its owner. I am interested in speaking with the owner. If you can get me in touch with the owner I would appreciated it.

Thanks

Yes, he is on this forum. I’ll let him know you have some questions.

Keep in mind that the quad cab trucks had SIGNIFICANTLY softer leafs out back. Set up is nothing like the RC's except for the axle and brakes. I could see a quad cab needing the "help" out back.

Cheers! :)

IIRC only the single cabs have the kicker shock. not sure if anyone has ever retrofitted a kicker shock into a QC truck.

Thanks,
I looked at Hotchkis but they did not list our truck.
Sigma, or you can do like I did. My suspension was mickey mouse rigged from a previous owner. I went back with original rear leafs, deleted the overload spring, and added a lowering McGaughy 2/4.5 flip kit. Truck handles like a sports car in tight turns, and at decent speeds with no leaning. Throw a set of Caltrack traction bars on to stop the axle wrap.

I like that! I will check it out. My issue is the handling in turns. I have the Caltrack Traction Bars, but the truck is at OEM height.

I'd like to lower the rear of my stock 04 rc a little. Would removing the over load springs and adding caltrac's improve rear handling and take a little of the rake out of her?
