My truck is very hard to shift to 3rd gear at higher RPM, shifts fine and seems prefect driving nicely. Shift detent seems to be be the problem, spring doesn't pull shifter to 3rd slot without helping. Recent purchase and haven't drove any other 10's, but friends challengers shift much better. Does transmission need to be removed to repair shifter, haven't been able to find much info. on this transmission. Any help and insite would be very appreciated! My truck is a 05 CE #130

If your truck has the stock Hurst shifter, it can be very difficult to hit 3rd at high rpm's. There are things that you can do; change the shifter to a B&M (if you can find one) or see if Tony has any shifter's available ( Home (jtsvp.com)). The shifter is changed from the top, no need to drop the transmission to complete a change out. How many miles are on your truck? Just wondering if it needs a new clutch/flywheel.

Truck has 70k miles, I've only had it for a short time and only put a few hundred miles on it. Changed oil but old oil looked perfect, no chunks and almost no gray material at all when I probed drain hole. I used the Redline oil recommended by a parts person at Dodge dealership. (any problem with that? It may have helped a little, but didn't change much.) There is no obvious sign of transmission being removed, but bought truck from a dealer and they couldn't give me previous owners name to get any history on truck. The clutch feels very strong, and scyncro's seem great, but haven't drove any others for comparision. Shouldn't the detent(?) spring push shifter to 3-4 slot from 1-2 slot without helping? It pulls it back from 5-6 slot nicely. Does the shifter have the detents, or is it in transmission? I would love to get a performance shifter! I will check on Tony, thanks. My friend has a '15 Challenger w/6.4 and 6-spd and it shifts like a dream! Would one of them fit in my transmission? Would the B&M, or Tony's be better?

Trying to shift into third gear in our trucks gets lost in the Bermuda Triangle..just one of those quirks about it..;)

Try holding the shifter 4" down the lever shaft as the problem with our trucks is the detents are not strong enough for the length of shaft. Vipers have short lever

When I rev mine passed 3000 half the clutch pedal disappears. Fluid is being pushed back to reservoir.
If I just keep foot on pedal problem is solved.
    Maybe a tired old clutch:(

You should switch to an automatic Trans. Immediately.

I missed third at Fontana...I had a Honda tuner...missed third and he won race
I rarely missed racing it happened but not often....would pull fourth and just accept
    third is finicky...lol
