Ok guys, I'm going to be ordering my Billy Boat Long Tube Headers tomorrow (1-15-2021), and I'm torn between CAT or No CAT midpipes. I'd like to get ya'lls feedback on how it would sound with no CATS, and also if I would lose torque or not, if it would sound like a raspy honda, etc. All opinions are welcome. Yes, I'm aware of the smell with no CATS, just want to know the pros and cons.

I had the full Billy Boat exhaust with high flow cats, it sounded great. It had a lot deeper tone than the MOPAR/Borla without cats set up I had prior.

Remember to let your tuner know what you end of doing with the exhaust.

I have no cats twin 3", Flowmasters and dumps in front of rear wheels. Sound is real bad ass and loud. Shut them off and flows out the rear with 2.5" and hot dogs, sounds great and easier on the neighbours. The Dual Duals are a killer. Still a lot cheaper than off the shelf. Any good exhaust shop can custom make a system.

Dare to be different. Stand out from the crowd!!
You could be really different and put the steering wheel on the other side hahaha!
    That'll work!

Right. I'll get the tune prior to replacing the exhaust. Sadly, now I have to put the exhaust on the back burner. My tranny is getting worse shifting into second. I'm calling the tranny shop today to get an official quote for a rebuild. They also rebuild the torque converter when doing the rebuild. Any recommendations on a little "enhancement" for the converter?

So my speedshop told me that cutouts are not the most reliable, and have a tendency to go bad after a year or so. Any recommendations on a good quality cutout?

I had a seized one when I bought the truck. I took the electric motor apart and emptied the water out and cleaned, greased and now good as new for over a year.
They are simple and rugged enough to get them wet and strip and clean.
Sorry there is no brand name on my set

    Hmmmmm

Changing your exhaust (cats or no cats) requires a retune.

    Not sure who "they" are.
Not sure what you are being charged. One popular mod is to simply bend the convertor fins over to increase the stall speed.
Again, I'd recommend a specialty shop like TCS.

Sad about tranny, hope for the best.
My Gasket set and bolts turned up today, only 6 days, wow.
    Was an 18lb radiator cap.
    I bought a new 16lb
I don't think that has anything to do with it.
Coolant hasn't gone brown so it ain't leaking from cylinder

Why do you think your exhaust gasket blew out?

I'll probably go that route with the converter. I was quoted between 3000.00 - 3500.00 for the rebuild. Would a shift kit make any difference, or is that not a good idea for this model of tranny?
