Installed the new black grills today
This was the first exterior mod I wanted to do after my shifter knob.
Think it makes the truck look evil

That looks great! Where did you order them, and how much, I want to get them as well.

Thanks, they came with a load of parts when I purchased the truck

So thankfully did not have to purchase them

However, packaged up by a company called grillcraft. Look like a USA based company

    Hope that helps

    Nice!

    2 questions:

how does the grill come off of the hood?

And are the OEM grill inserts that you replaced actually metal or are they chrome covered plastic?

    Hi viper killer
The grill is attached by a series of bolts at the front and rear of the bonnet (hood )
It sits on some plastic peg mounts that you lift it off when you have undone all the bolts. It's really easy to do, there are about 10-12 bolts.

If you look at the channel "boosted Motorsport" on YouTube he has a video where he removes his grill, it does not show removal, however , does show putting it back on.

The grills are metal and painted black, good bit of weight to them.

oh darn. I wouldn’t mind coating my oem grill insert with black, but can’t powder coat plastic.

I can’t find any inexpensive metal replacement inserts though. They all seem like over 350.00 or way more.

That is strange because mine feel like they are metal and sound like metal when tapping something on them. But definitely too flexible to not be plastic I guess.
