Hello! Can anyone tell me how you're supposed to remove these silver fasteners from the back of the hood scoop screen/grill? I tried to google this but that wasnt so great since I dont know what they're called exactly. I am sure there's some method to removing them but I've already broken one of them trying to remove it, and yet another one of them pulled the tab right off of the back screen when I tried to shimmy it off the post :(

I tried using a pick to pull back each of the little tines in the middle, and that didnt work either. Neither did using a retainer puller or any other tool I have.

Please let me know.... pics below:

    Thanks!

I just learned this morning that they’re called starlock fasteners and that you’re just supposed to use some mini dyke pliers to cut off a couple tines and then remove them.

my confusion was because I assumed you were supposed to resuse them since Dodge told me they haven’t had any for 10 years and also didn’t have any of the 22 fasteners that are used to fasten the chrome plastic grill to the front grill. Very odd.

yep, found the starlock fasteners on Amazon.

still unable to find the ones for the grill anywhere. They’re the ones that have a post that goes through the middle of it which expands the back end and fastens the chrome grill piece to the front grill on the hood. 3 different dodge dealers took a look at my schematic and the example in my hand and said to go eff myself
