OEM Center Caps Question

My truck is in the mechanics shop a good distance away but I had to order replacement center caps sight unseen so I had a question for you guys since I cannot get to my truck (05 Ram SRT)....

Are the OEM center caps on the 22” wheels plastic?

I spoke at length with the fella over at the ViperStore and there's a definite size difference (couple MM) in the center cap for our 22" wheel versus the 19" and 20" wheels. So it seems that no one sells the metal center caps for our trucks anymore, as I have contacted just about every vendor that I have ever seen advertise them, and every vendor that was linked on any of the SRT forums.

TheViperStore did say that the center caps that say VIPER across the front are indeed a little too small for our wheels, but that they would potentially fit because they are attached from behind the wheel via safety rings. I am going to try those and see how big the gap looks between the cap and the wheel.

Contact X2 Builders, it's a salvage yard for the SRT, Vette, etc. They might have some.

Can't remember who, but someone was making some nice metal type (alum. I think) w/viper logo on them and fit good. Have on mine, was about "07 though so I suppose no longer available
 
Stinker used to sell billet Center caps. Not sure if he still does.
