JTSVP PS Lines Leaking?

Yes sir they do that general maintenance work but have several senior mechanics that work more involved repairs/upgrades (had them replace all brakes with drilled/slotted rotors & ceramic pads, install CAI, upgrade oil lines, now tackling ps lines etc). Got a set of ps lines on it but kept leaking at fan connect so trying these.

How exactly does a mechanic ensure not to over-torque? Is it just a experienced mechic feel thing or ? (Once they know secure they just know to stop @ some point)?

I see.. well I don't have any experience with them so I don't want to cast any doubt.. but the SRT-10 mechanicals are not like not an average RAM. (even though I think they all share the same hydraulically controlled fan)

What area do you live?>
You may be close to a more certified shop that knows the "pitfalls" of this application.

I'm in Madison AL 35758....but hard to find an SRT experienced mechanic unless by reference......but honestly I haven't called the dodge dealer in town to see if they have any techs that are SRT certified or been there long time and worked these trucks. The shop I go to is so convenient- right down the road.

Yeah the "over torque" is probably hard to exactly define, but I do wonder generally how do you know you are at that point when tightening. Guess it's a get it tight but don't over tighten. By the way has your OEM fan worked well to date?

Got it.. to be honest I would start at the local dodge dealer. They will have access to the correct shop manuals and specialty tools if needed.

The last thing you want is your truck messed up out of convenience. Some (most) of the Viper parts are discontinued too.. so just getting the part can be a monumental effort in time and cost.

Right.. it's one of those things that you have to have experience in as it's not a bolt you can tighten to spec with a torque wrench.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks for all the chat/help. Agree with you on all. I've got the parts from admins of viper group and been great help so that's been so good cause would be stuck without that- just wish I could star trek beam my truck to him for installs (push a button and be in his shop multiple states away)!!!!!!

A "Crow's Foot" wrench can be used with a torque wrench.
The fan assemblies are the very same used on Hemis.

Thanks!
