Yes we do. I could talk about the Registry, but that’s boring.

This has been discussed before but I've not seen anyone say yes I've done it; has anyone put a ZF 8 sp in a Viper truck yet?

There was a link (a year or more ago) about a conversion. As the 8.3 is a torque monster, I don't know that it would NEED 8 speeds (even though 7 and 8 are overdrive). It sure would be nice to modernize the transmission though, even if it was strictly for dependability!!

Some guys just lurk and are timid to ask any questions. I remember a guy showing me a spark plug years ago and thought it was the threaded screw on top that provided "the gap". A valid observation as what other part would seem to be "adjustable"??

I guess I could have rolled on the floor laughing but I've never been "that guy".

Maybe 55 years of being in this hobby has taught me patience. :)

Ok, I’ll bite,I’ve been tidying up my Ten this winter cleaning off the underside painting the chassis rails and getting removable parts powder coated.I’ve now turned my attention to the front suspension ,anyone git any tips on splitting the lower ball joint and removing along with the bushings? I like to powder coat the lower wishbone.

I replaced one of mine a number of years ago when I installed a lowering kit. It's no different than any other ball joint, just be careful of the aluminum parts. Moog makes replacements if you need them.

The real problem is gearing....4.71 1st gear coupled with a 4.56 rear makes 1st basically unusable. I've been trying to find if there are alternate gear sets for the 248RBI besides 4.10 & 4.56; old school D60's (like the ones 440 & hemi stick shift cars came with) were available with a 3.54 but I don't know if a gearset like that would be compatible.

Are you setting your vehicle up for strictly Drag Racing?

I've thought about going with a 2.77 gearset (like the 904 had) for the 48RE but honestly these engines, as you know, make a lot of torque. I don't even bother to hot-brake at the track and just stab the throttle from a dead-idle to w.o.t. The convertor flashes to 2900 or so, the rear plants (hard), and off it goes... Not exactly an ideal launch for a great ET, but it works fine.

A 4.10 gear-set in the Dana with the 22s' and, I'd bet even 3.54s would be more than enough for a really low first gear setup ! The issue for me with 3.54s: the engine would be turning over so slow with my cam (238 @ .050"), gas mileage and general throttle response (for hills and such), would be dismal.

    4.77 x 4.56 x 600 (or so) lbs. ft. of torque = 13,050 lbs. ft.

Using the stupid-low Drag Radials with 17" wheels, my stock 4.56 rear ratio turned into 4.88. The truck didn't even want that, and it cost me MPH through the traps. The truck is a Strider and not a Sprinter.

Depending on how quick the new tranny went through first and second, a part-throttle launch would likely be more than enough- The same launch technique used for most modern vehicles.

Forums seem to be a hot-spot for keyboard commandoes too. USEFUL information for a few back and forths and then it often goes down the drain. It doesn't seem to matter if the Forum is for Cars, Sleds, Motorcycles, Audio Equipment, Stamp Collecting, etc.

RFE based. I wouldn't trust one of those to hold up long term. 8HP90 would take it far beyond what a stock 10 can do to it. Especially this new Demon version.
