Does anybody have any pics of a lowered RC with 18 or 17 rims and tires

I'm one of the old timers, and I have to admit, I do not remember anyone going with those size wheels.

I may be wrong, but I believe you are going to be SOL on this one.

cool man , thanks, I just think it would be a great mod if it looked good, it would be weight reduction plus be faster

This is about as close as you're gonna see I think:dontknow: ....19's in front, 16's out back

Way to much wheel well for me. Some have thought about 20's ,But anything smaller just wouldn't look right. Just my .02

Is it possible? What's the smallest rim that can fit around our front brakes?

Other than for mounting slicks, I can't see any reason to downsize the rims. It sounds like too much trouble considering the shaved and/or removed calipers out there.:dontknow:

As you can see by Ken's picture, if you go to a smaller diameter wheel, you will have to increase the aspect ratio of the tire to compensate for the overall tire/wheel diameter.

That is why the 3/4 or 1 ton trucks run 85 series tires, vs. our 40 series.

Okay, our stock tires are a 40 series, which means that the sidewall is 40% of the tire width. So, since our tires have a width or 305, that make the sidewall height 122.

One my 1ton truck the tires I had on it were 275-85/16's. The tire width was 275 and the sidewall height was 234.

That is why performance tires have a lower aspect ratio i.e. 40 series vs. 85 series. The less sidewall height you have, the less flex there is in the tire. This also translates into a rougher ride.

Did that help?:dontknow:
