Well it's time for me to upgrade the system, so who has a recommendation regarding Blu-Ray players.

Include links if you have them.
 
Playstation 3. Game console and one of the better blu-ray players out there. I love mine.
 
I have been asking the same thing John and everyone is telling to just buy the PS3 with 80gig harddrive. you can do so much more than just watch movies on it and it is software upgradeable.

I bought an 80gb PS3 for the main system, and a Samsung for the bedroom.

The PS3 is very cool, flexible, and does a great job upconverting standard DVDs. I can even stream MP3s from any networked computer in my house through the PS3.:rock: There's also a pretty cool visualizer for music playback with high-res footage of the Earth (in addition to the original one).

The Samsung just stops for no reason once in awhile. No idea why.

I'd buy another PS3 any day.

What Patrick said! I didn't want a PS3. I didn't want to have the TV on 24/7 playing games and burnin' up the LCD! Seriously, though, the Samsung package is AWESOME! Blu-Ray is AWESOME! Your viewing experience will never be the same!:D
 
Another vote for PS3...

I'm not a gamer by any stretch, and I wanted a Blu-Ray player so I figured I'd give it a try.

Watching 1080/HDMI Blu-Ray makes regular DVDs look, well regular.
 
I haven't even used the Blu-Ray on my PS3 yet, but I love it just the same!! :rock:
 
I wasn't going to buy a PS3 since I vowed the XBOX 360 would be my last gaming console.. But I think the responses to this thread just convinced me to get one anyway..

I am listening to music from my PC through my PS3 on my Bose system right now!! :rock::rock:
 
I got a Panasonic Blu-Ray player, which came with 5 free BD titles. I think I paid at the time around $350 for the player.

I already had a PS2, and never play it... so I figured why get a PS3... and not play it...?

You should get the Harmony 1000 remote from Logitech.. I picked up one for a Norwegian buddy per his request not knowing what that thing was.. If you have lots of electronics for home entertainment (no matter what it is or brand) this thing is a must have. It even dims your house lights, controls your electric projector screen (if you have one) and controls your garage door opener as well.. At the touch of a on screen button. I'm gonna buy another one, but for myself this time..
