So after my little issue of driving faster then gravity can hold me at, the boss said the truck has to go.

Even though I am going to take a bath, what have people experienced lately go to carmax and sell it or trade in to dealers? My qc is an 06 with 33k, new tires and mint condition. I figure I should get about 21 for it.

If it needs to be gone fast, trade in would be my guess

If you're trading it all depends on what you are trading for. If you are trading for something that isn't moving then you can probably work a good deal. If you want to trade for a hot seller you will have to take it in the shorts. Only way to get a fast sale right now is to trade in or get a dealer/Carmax to buy it. Just spend a day going from dealer to dealer and have them give you a purchase/trade price and you will get the best deal. If you spend the time and shop around you will come out best.

I am looking at the hyundai veracruz or buick enclave. The hyundai seems to have more cash available in it vs. the buick.

you can always trade the boss in, cause your goin to take a hosing from carmax i laughed at them and walked out

What did carmax offer? Money really isn't an issue I just of course want to limit the damage.

Seth,

Start by setting a price that's too high and metodically work your way down to whatever you can afford to take for the truck.....

Good Luck and sorry you have to sell....

D

Ill have to scan the paper in with the quote good for 30days
but all kidding aside seth you should do this
1 call your loan company and see if you min the insurance and be sure you tell them you goin to store it(cause your goin to take a bath on a trade)
2 jump on an auto trader crigslist and find a beater car for 700-3000 ( i got a 2000 neon with 111,000 a little damage in the front for 200 bucks and it runs mint yeah $200 i didnt miss a key)
i did it for other reasons but my loan company said it was fine cause im pulling the motor and stuff out and i picked the neon up for the winter but i think thats your best bet i wish you the best of luck i just dont want you to get kicked hard when a brother is down

Keep the truck. Find a new boss.

just rebell, take back the crown of your kingdom, and punish the "boss" for ever having suggested the selling of your beloved srt-10.

IMO, stay away from carmax, unless you want to give it away. My Father in law took his 05 Tahoe, loaded out the wazzu, to carmax and they offered less than half of blue book value "average condition". He did this back in late 06 and the Tahoe had about 10000 miles on it. Also if you're thinking about trading it, you may make out better, depending on what you want to purchase. The Hyundai dealer probably won't offer jack for it either. It will probably be real difficult for that dealer to off load it on their used car lot, remember it is a Hyundai dealer -- they would probably take it straight to auction and hope for the best. But either way, you will probably take a beating on a carmax sale or trading it. Do you have time to try and sell it as a private sale?

Carmax offered me 27k for my 06 QC about 6 months ago:dontknow:

The problem with selling it outright to a dealer right now is that they are only buying what they need (SRT's are not on the list). BUT, if they can steal it, then they may buy it. They aren't going to steal it so they can make a killing, but rather be in the car right because they may have to put a low price on it to sell it quick AND make some profit.

Did you say Hyundai?:puke:

Well now she is gone. I got 21k which is exactly what I thought I was going to get.

If there is any lesson you should all learn from mistake is keep the speed at the strip. It may only be 6 seconds of stupidity, but life is defined by 6 seconds of things.
