Okay... The there’s a GTG planned for this weekend (December 20th) that was originally for Eddie being here. Since he was able to acquire his truck without coming to Houston we decided to do a GTG anyway for the locals.
I will be providing the eats ahead of time so I wouldn't have to be grilling while everyone's together. The last GTG we had was in Bear Creek. Some members couldn't make it because it was on the far southwest side of town. Roseland Park in Baytown (at the end of Texas Avenue) is somewhere we never been to and would be nice to include everyone in on this. Some of the members have already provided some funds for the event to cover all costs (food, beverages, snacks, utensils, ice, etc.). I don't know how many are going to show but so far $20.00 a member seems like the agreed amount. With that all everyone would have to do is show up. I'll take care of the rest. If there are any special requests for drinks, food, chips, whatever just let me know and it'll be done.
I am going to play it safe and prepare 2 briskets, potato salad, BBQ beans and such so that every attendee will leave stuffed. OR I could do one brisket and other stuff like burgers, brats, chicken, etc. :laugh:Remember, no matter what good food it is we are going to chew with our minds open. I need input from you guys on this soon because cooking for this event starts tomorrow (Friday). Afterwards if everyone or some would like to go for some margaritas that would be fine too. I wouldn't mind putting down a few. The weather should be nice and warm that day so clean vehicles should be possible.
I'll try calling everyone I have numbers for. If you have friends or family you'd like to bring along, then by all means, please do... It's a park so why not? I know my daughter will be there. Just let me know how many friends or loved ones you want to bring so I know how much food and supplies to have available. Of course you all have my number 832-217-0562. Give me a shout if you have any questions. I hope we can all have some good times that day as it also serves as my farewell GTG before leaving to Africa for God knows how long.:dontknow:
