Back before Rockwell International became Boeing, they had an open house in Palmdale. there are two buildings where the B-1B was built, the assembly hanger and the final checkout hanger. During the open house a guy by the name of Bob Ford flew the B-1b, wings swept full in afterburner between the two buildings about 5 times. He came in so low, you felt like you were on fire from the heat off the engines. The buildings are about 100 feet apart, it was the most awesome thing I had ever seen or experienced.
