So I got to make some runs yesterday, still havent broken into the 12's yet, but getting pretty close. Had a couple 13.2@105+mph passes in 1487 feet DA. Not too bad I guess for running full street trim and stock 22inch rims and tires.

I'm still having launch issues with the street tires, either having to roll out a couple lengths before getting on it or totally blowing the tires out doing big rolling burnouts. Getting better at launching though, hopefully I can find that spot where I wont have to waste so much time rolling out and get onto the gas quicker. Didn't even bother lowering my tire pressure since I was having to roll out so far, probably coulda shaved off a couple hundred pounds dropping my spare, bedcover and wing, and tailgate, but ahhhh I like run it on the strip how I run it on the street.

Dunno if I woulda broke into the 12's with such a high DA anyway, but there was definitly some e.t lost on the soft launches. Dragtimes says a 13.2@105 turns into a [email protected] at sea level from a 1487ft DA so thats good news.

Other news is I was getting smoked all day from a nice lady driving Challenger SRT-8 with CAI, cam, headers, straight pipes/full exhaust, tune, and drag radials. She was usually running a 12.8-12.9@108 with a best of [email protected] with a 1.8 60 ft., she even took a long break and came back running her nitrous and ran a 11.8@119mph. Her husband busted out a blown mopar big block Cuda that they were trying to get dailed in and the damn thing was still running 9.50's.

Had a blast though, got some decent times, still need to practice getting the launches down.

Good times, practice makes perfect. A set of Drag Radials would help you tremendously. Would get you 1.80 or so 60' times:rock:

Thanks bro. Yeah I had my eye on them for a long time but cash hasn't been flowing in like before. I'll probably end up getting rid of my 76 Celica and using some of the money to buy the drag radials and maybe some tranny mods if I can get the DR's cheap.

WD-40 before you go, comes off real easy after. coat the areas behind the wheels.
and i have not done a run on new tires yet, but i am excited to see the difference. those pirellies got to go!

has anyone ever dynoed a cat removal?

Mine bone stock (QC) ran a 13.99 at 99 while Fahrenheit with his QC with a tune, CAI, exhaust and slicks pulled a 13.06 @ 106.
There is definitely something wrong with your tune or something.

To the OP, great runs for the old grocery getter!:D

On both my 13.2@105mph runs they were on the spectator lane which wasn't showing 1/8th mile times.

60ft: 2.024 & 2.023
330ft: 5.647 & 5.642
1000ft: 11.125 & 11.127
1/4et: [email protected] & [email protected]

Another one of my runs from tower lane had the 1/8th mile times, that is pretty close to the one you posted was a

60ft: 2.085
330: 5.713
660ft: [email protected]
1000ft: 11.196
1/4: [email protected]

These runs were in 1487 feet DA from our track that is only 38 feet above sea level. A 13.2@105 at 1487 DA turns to a [email protected] at sea level.

I'm thinking you were probably in much higher DA which will drastically slower your times depending on how high the DA is. Also by comparing the 13.3 runs it looks like you didn't have your truck in tow/haul mode and you probably had the extra shift right before the line, but I'm just guessing.

I was launching at around 1500rpms and just rolling out while holding the gas in that position, after rolling out a length or two I just hammer it. Sometimes it breaks loose and fries the tires if I don't roll out enough, or I roll out too far and it just really feels like a slow start.
