ac problems

need help :mad: , my ac seems to work when it feels like, work for a bit, then kick out for 2min to 2days, changed relays, changed compresors, re-charged system 3times, nothin changes :mad: , any ideas would be greatly apreciated. thanks Derek.
 
thanks, but i dont think its that, i have cold air from both sides when it works..........the ac clutch disengauges stoping the the cold air........and engages when it feels like it.
 
Thats an important clue....out of my comfort range but I can tell you the ECU controls that function.
 
Need to check to see if the clutch is commanded on (voltage headed to it) when it's not working.

If commanded on, and not locked up, clutch it is.

If not, check high and low pressure cutout switches to see if one is engaged which will prevent compressor from coming on. Then, determine if the cause is real or if the switch is bad (ac gauges).
 
Check for system leaks, Freon charge. Maybe the control module (temp and air flow) needs replacement?

At the speeds I drive on the highway (95% of my driving) the wind noise is horrid with the windows down, to say nothing of my allergies. :chain:

Do turn the air off when Mexican racing but other than that-----full cool. :D
 
I'm with ya on that one Shorty. It's just getting to the hottest part of the year.

Try 105 In the shade. We have topped 101 this year already and August is always the hottest month in Texas. Probly if I drank beer I could roll the windows down and cruse but the wife put a halt to the drinking 30 years ago. Good thing that as I may have ended up like some of the rascals on our site. :D

Heck, just yesterday I was in Viet Nam shooting folks and now I got guys here gunning for me. :dontknow: Believe me, time moves of so fast. My truck is just an attempt to keep younger than I really am. :rock: Oh what I would have done differently. :chain:
 
if ya had done things differently, would we be havin this chat, would ya be hooked up with the lady your with now, have a Viper Truck???

that time line stuff is a buzz all to its own
