hmmm any of you guys know much about the.. Northern greens apartments on 8150N 61st ave , Glendale? we found a smoken deal on a 1 bed room apartmen. were picking up a lease thats going to be broken for $385 a month just want to make sure it's a good area. i'm mostly worried about my bike disapearing

Sounds too cheap to me, I'll pass by and check out the area for you. You'll be near Westgate and the football stadium, the cheap rent worries me, I'll post up later this week.

Not the nicest area. Come more West. Glendale is nice, I'd stay on the west side of Grand Ave if you can. I'm in Surprise, nice area, but the drive to MMI would be murder everyday.

61st Ave and about Olive is where that is and the area is not terrible but below average. Not bad enough that a smoking deal like that would get past me. If money is a big factor (as it is for most all of us), go for it. If you want specifics about the apartment complex I am sure one of us could check it out in person.

thanks fellas! only reason the rent is so cheap is someone iss breaking a lease and they need someone in the apartment. Normal rent for that same apartment is $555 a month. if anyone has some free time please cruise by there and see what the area looks like. and would the drive suck that bad on a bike? keep in mind all I have is my harley now and money is a huge factor. i relly want a gated place but for the money if there is no hidden things that are wrong with this place i can't pass it up

Thats pretty close to Grand Ave...It can be pretty spotty depending on the specific location. You'll get a block that is nice/modern and a block that is 1950's to 1970's overrun by illegals to full on heavy commercial. Glendale is also notorious for farm animals dispersed though out its city limits. :p While I'm not real familiar with that particular neighborhood, you are north enough it should be just fine. My interests/knowledge runs from N Phx to N Scottsdale to far NE Mesa where I reside. I don't spend much time west of 1-17.

tooloe if you can i would just get a house. I lived in apts while i was there and it plain sucks. For the extra money just see if you can rent a small house with a garage, it will be worth it! If you need roomates, you can easily find some thru uti or mmi.

On another note, Why the sudden change into motorcycle repair field?

talk to any of the mechanics and they will tell you the pay sucks. What happened to becoming a pilot? I would much rather advise pursuing that then turning wrenches.

If your really set on working with your hands I would much prefer you to join the collision industry then this.

I would just stick to north Phoenix, I'll check out the the locale tomorrow though. Taking the Charger to the dyno and its in the neighborhood.

Mostly just money man. I don't have the funds to keep going in the civilian aviation world. My parents help me but I cannot keep asking them to foot the bill for flight hours. I've always loved motorcycles and currently own a small business dealing with motorcycles and powdercoating. Going to MMI will give me a leg up for my own business and also with Harley. I've heard the pay isn't great starting out. However I do know a guy that works for Harley that went to MMI work as a tech for 3 years And moved into management. And is makeing a nice comfortable living. I'm not trying to make a bunch of money. I've done that in the oil field and k busted my ass. I just want to be comfortable and be able to spend time with my soon to be wife and hopefully family years down the road. I figure that if I'm going to work all my life it might as well be something I love doing.
