    Big Girl Turned 300!

My 06 QC finally turned 300k miles today, after eleven+ years of daily driving. This has been an exceptionally reliable truck, and the highest mileage Viper motor that I'm aware of. On to 400!

    Rolled 200k today!

To those who asked about what I oil I use, I have always let my local dealer service it. Apparently they used Mobil 1 5W40 until Chrysler filed for bankruptcy, after which Mobil bailed as a supplier. Since then they have used Pennzoil Ultra 5W40. I am in SC so we don't have crazy climate swings...

    Rolled 200k today!

lol... Thought about that. My long term average mpg is about 11.3. That means 200k miles burned 17,700 gallons of gas. I think I just made Al Gore's hit list! And at $3.80 / gallon, I've spent roughly $67,260 on gas. %$@#!! That's almost 3 Priuses...

    Rolled 200k today!

Passed 200k on the way home from work tonight in my 06 QC. Fantastic truck. Only had two significant failures since this post: http://www.vtcoa.com/forums/f7/my-06-qc-passed-150k-yesterday-48983/ One was a totally integrated power module (TIPM) which killed off my power windows. The other...

does it have to be premium?

I would definitely not risk the lower octane without the tune. One of the first things my Viper tech told me after I bought the truck was never to run regular in it. At the time he was working on a Viper where the owner had done that and detonation had seriously damaged the motor. The short...

My 06 QC Passed 150k yesterday!

Definitely true, but it's funny - in SC I get more compliments on my SRT-10 than on any of the exotics except maybe the Lamborghini. SC loves trucks, and I'm surprised by the number of people everywhere that know what the SRT-10 designation means.

My 06 QC Passed 150k yesterday!

It's stock except for the ECU (remapped to free up the QC torque) and stereo. It's a daily driver work truck and I travel all over SC and GA for work. Luckily the business takes care of the gas... :)

My 06 QC Passed 150k yesterday!

Passed 180k miles this week - still solid as a rock and as fast as a cheetah. Nothing but routine maintenance since I started this thread. Really well built machine all around...

My 06 QC Passed 150k yesterday!

While driving from SC to Montreal, Canada for the Formula 1 race. Been a terrific daily driver. In all those miles I've only had two significant failures - a broken valve spring around 70k miles and a bad fan motor assembly around 90k. Both fixed under extended warranty. Other than that...

    Searching for high strength wheels...

Trust me - I'm no stranger to a stiff ride (still talking trucks here), but when you have all four wheels badly out of balance and they get a harmonic going, it's almost bad enough to where the passenger seat can whack me in the head while driving. I don't mind paying for quality. I have HREs...

    Searching for high strength wheels...

Yeah - mostly the roads here (SC). Not uncommon to have differences in pavement heights of 2-3 inches where we have bridges, expansion joints, potholes, etc. Plus I think I probably put a lot more miles on my truck every year than most SRT owners.

    Searching for high strength wheels...

I have had a continuing problem with my 06 QC of bending the factory rims. Not enough to see, but enough that the balance is off. I have two full sets of factory rims and all 8 have had the same problem. Now the balance issue is so bad that being in the truck is like riding in a paint can...

    Urgent Parts Help Needed

Just wanted to thank you guys for all the help. Through the people that left me messages and referrals, I was able to find a used part through a salvage company in WI for $550. The truck is repaired and back on the road. Chrysler has since bumped back the available date twice, now to May 18. It...

    Urgent Parts Help Needed

My truck has been sidelined for three weeks now due to a part my dealer can't get from Chrysler. Now they are told April 27 is earliest delivery date. I can't be without the truck that long. If anyone can help me locate the following I would be quite grateful: Part #5290438AF "Radiator Fan...

    Need Stronger Wheels

When I went to get tires last time, three of my four wheels were bent. I bought a used set on eBay, but when I had the tires balanced this week I found out that two of the four new ones are now bent. They are all bent on the inner surface, and my Dodge mechanic (who I trust implicitly) has...

Ipod integration kit for 06 QC

Can you still use this integration package if you have the Sirius radio package, or is this like the older ones where it has to be either Sirius OR iPod but not both? Thanks, -- charles

Anyone else get a bearing recall today?

My truck was in for regular fluid service this week when I got the postcard. My dealer changed both the front wheel bearings on my truck under warranty. -- charles

DVD adapters needed: OEM or Aftermarket

JR - See my update in the Sticky section about this. Also, if you want to be able to do video on your stock head unit, I'm happy with www.tvandnav2go.com. They've done conversions on my Dodge unit and my Dad's GMC and are quite helpful with quick turnaround. -- charles

    rhino coat?? line-x?? opinions

I've also got Line-X and am very happy with it. The Charleston, SC dealer did a very nice job, including some special masking because I wanted to do the bed rails but didn't want it visible from the side under the tonneau cover. Got the recommendation from my brother who had had both Rhino...

    Aux Inputs for CAN Radios

Yes. The CHYX adapter just gives you two sets of regular RCA inputs. You can connect them to any device that has a normal line-level output, so DVD players will work fine. When you connect the CHYX adapter, it gives you another 'tab' on the radio where you would normally have CD or SAT. The...
