Was it common to have a damper on the driveshaft? Talking about an 05 RC. It’s located near the trans tailshaft. Quite large and looks heavy. Is there an equivalent replacement without the damper or can it be removed. Gotta get under there again to see but is it only on the slip yoke side of directly on the driveshaft. Looks like it could free up some power.

I see now it’s a trans damper that just happens to Ben mounted on the tailshaft. Still wondering how many people run without them and if it does anything at all. Meaning have some of you taken them off and not noticed any differences.
