In July while heading to NJ from GA for a funeral, my power steering pump went out in DC. I had a local mechanic replace it because the dealer couldn't see me until later that week. So got a new pump and made it to NJ but before I got there my truck started making a noise just like before the pump went out. So I had the local dealer look at it and they said it needed a belt. Since I was out of town, they put me priority. They replaced the belt. On the way home from NJ, my truck started back making the noise so took to local dealer. They replaced the pump because they said the local guy used an aftermarket part, then they said the belt was fine but that I needed a new line. So, got truck back still making noise now Im over $3000 into repair. So they said since its a new line make take a min for the noise to go away. Been over a month still hear noise. It lasts for a bout 5-10 mins after starting up then stops. Took it back, they said mechanic heard slight noise but its as the heat shield to exhaust manifold. I got it replaced. Got the truck back 8 days later, still making noise. This noise wasn't there before and I don't know if they aren't taking me serious because I'm a female or what. Ive tried to upload video but can't. Some say it may be the belt and some say the pulley. I wish I could upload video.

Hold on lady, some of the good guys here will lend a hand----and the answer will be correct.

Most definitely!

Have you had your oil changed recently? SRT10's make odd noises, just as you are describing, when the incorrect (non-Viper) filter is used.

Could be your tensioner or idler pulley? If this noise is belt related. I'm trying to figure out how this has cost you 3k? Not much help without a video to help pinpoint the noise

Sounds like belt and pulley noise. But since your p/s pump was replaced they had to remove and replace the pulley and if it is off a bit it will give you belt chirp. Now you need to find a pulley alignment tool usually a clamp on laser and see if the pulley is out of alignment.

Yes I have. It was at Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers in Warner Robins, GA. When its due for an oil change, I can take it to the dealer.

It needs to go to a real Viper tech. All these folks guessing is as bad as the mechanics that guessed and threw $3000 into it to not fix it. My .02

Almost like saying someone needs a transmission rebuilt when all they needed was their clutch hydraulics bled right?

Not sure what this has to do with the OP's post. Please try to keep it on topic, so we don't have to ban you. Thanks. :D

Mine makes that noise when it is cold, its the pulleys they have crud on them. Mine started doing it when I blew one of the cooling lines to the fans and it sprayed tran fluid all over the motor.

Take the belt off, hit all your pulleys with a cleaner. You may have to replace your belt as well if the noise is still there.

Either way your truck is fine though.

Mine made the same noise and it was the belt tensioner and idler pulley

Thank you! Should I take it back to the dealer that I originally went to or try the Dodge dealer in town over?

You should take it to someone who isn't screwing you over. Maybe have another member with knowledge check it out. You've spent way too much not to be fixed. :(

Everyone has made valid points and Scott is right stop throwing $$$ at it $3000.00!shoot that's a lot I learned real fast not to do that 'my truck did the same exact thing and noise or chirp and I was lucky to hear a members video he posted I think it was BLAZINSRT and so I changed the tensioner and sure enough that same noise you have went away now with that being said black talon it could also be the idler pulley or misaligned pulleys make sure you chime in once you get it fixed and let us know
