Today is Pearl Harbor Day.

Make sure you wish a service man/woman well today. A lot of folks gave there lives on this day in 1941.

Never Forget. We must always stand vigilant as our enemies are many.

I watched our flag pass by one day..
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine saluted it,
And then he stood at ease….

I looked at him in uniform...
So young, so tall, so proud
With hair cut square and eyes alert
He'd stand out in any crowd.

I thought how many men like him...
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil
How many mothers' tears…..

How many pilots' planes shot down…
How many died at sea
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves…
No, freedom isn't free.

I heard the sound of Taps one night,
When everything was still…
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.

I wondered just how many times
That Taps had meant "Amen,"
When a flag had draped a coffin.
Of a brother or a friend.

I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives…
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.

I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea…
Of unmarked graves in Arlington.
No…. freedom isn't free!!!

Enjoy Your Freedom & God Bless Our Troops

Bro thanks for this, this day holds a special place in my heart, thanks

and to those that survived, thank you

No problem Stink... I had a Grandfather that was there as well...

It is also, strangely enough, my parents wedding anniversary today (31yrs).

God bless the memory of those who fell at Pearl Harbor.....

Let us also remember that our attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki ended the bloody reign of evil, totalitarian dictators around the world.....

God rest our fallen heros.....

SD

I would like to also pass on a Heart Felt Thanks to those that survived. Your efforts and sacrifice will be with me always as I remember those that lost there life on that day.

Mikey, THAT IS AWESOME!!!!! People have forgotten about flag etiquette. Not many know how to properly display Old Glory!! Good for you!!

Think I'll throw "Saving Private Ryan" in the DVD player tonight. I especially like the letter written to Ryan's mother read by the General of the loss of her sons.

I drove by Pearl Harbor today.......I love every single one of those men that fell that day, so that I could be part of the Worlds Greatest Navy. And for those still Kickin'....May I say Thank You!!!!:)

A picture worth a Thousand Words!

My Sister sent this to me, it touched my heart and my patriotism! I though you all might appreciate it too!

We truly take a lot for granted. Forget the football "heroes" and movie "stars". Pass this on so that all may know the price of freedom.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you,
Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.

One died for your soul;
the other for your freedom.
