I have a pristine 05 standard cab SRT10 with 88K miles and is stock except black KMC wheels. I blew my motor today (not evemn doing anything fun, just driving normal).... but it's soo bad it punched a hole in the block. I think I am going to just sell it but have no idea what it would be worth with a blown motor. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I ordered an aftermarket one off of ebay and it should be here tomorrow. I don't need one right now but I figured I would get one when I saw it available. LINK
Someone with the smarts on this.....what the heck could cause this to just blow? I'd be sick. Sent from my SPH-L520 using Tapatalk
not sure haven't had a chance to climb under and check out the carnage.... too busy crying tonight (not really, but sorta)
I wish..... its the catastrophic grinding of metal parts and seize that makes me only wish an oil line came loose.
Get it to a shop or pull the motor to see the true damage. You can't make an educated decision without knowing what has been done. Might be time for: 1. Rebuild engine 2. New to you used engine 3. Sell as a shell 4. Pull it apart piece by piece and part it out (you better have some room if you want to do this)
I think he can see the true damage through the hole in the side of the block and not spend money on a dealership trip.
Haven't been checking my phone or computor but about once a day now. Been pretty busy and kinda got burned out for a bit cruising the web. I'm sure you know what I mean.
