    UIH,

I have been lurking around here you years. I have an 04 BLK RC #1880 which has kind of been collecting dust in the garage for many years. I purchased/stole the truck with 8500 miles in February of 05 for 35K. I was not really in the market but my DD 03 Hemi had an issue, and when I went to pick it up from the stealer after repair, I saw the SRT-10 in the show room and took it home a couple days later. My DD is still the 03 Hemi RC with 150k and running strong.

After years of thought, many Dogfish Heads, Sam's and other brews, I have finally come up with a plan.

I have decided to go more towards the auto cross or handling style of performance. Lowering, brakes and shocks, some minor engine performance enhancements such as long tubes with cats and SS from there to the back, throttle body, CAI, shifter and some other minor improvements along the way, but you get the idea.

I think Tony at JTS may be one of my new best friend if this keeps up.

I have the JTS 2/3 Ultra Extreme lowering kit with all the bushings and modded sway bar links from JMB. I installed the JTS Gen II shifter which is a real piece of art and just today, installed the K&N CAI. I had planned to install the lowering kit this past Thursday at my friends service station which has 3 lifts however, a little storm called Sandy got in the way.

Exhaust will come next followed by brakes and shocks.

Here are a couple pics of the CAI install.

Very true and thanks for the welcome,

Dang, that was my first post. Actually, I do have a Hemi.

Girlfriend has been lumping me up for several year because I always talk about it but have yet to schit and get off the pot. I think she has plans when I am not around. I will have to keep an eye on her.

4.88 gears are a must. 4.56's at the very least. Tony can hook you up.

    Thanks guys,

4.88 , I will just jot that down right here on this list. I am not sure of the stock gearing but will assume the 4.88 is a much taller ratio.

Of course I had to make a beer run after I finished the install. Felt crisp for the short drive, a slight different sound when I jumped on it. The install was pretty straight forward as well. As you can see from the pics, it look pretty cool as well.

your truck should have 4.10's. 6th gesr is a slug!! The 05/06's have 4.56 gears. The 4.88 is lower yet for stop light too stop light fun!

Why is that? Im not real smart when it comes to the gears in these trucks. I have an 04. I'd love to get something that would give me more GET UP AND GO!

With 4.88's you will need to shift into 5th before crossing the 1/4 mark. That extra shift takes more time than the shorter gearing gains across the first four gears. Also, 5th and 6th are OD gears, not made for for full throttle sprints.

    UIH,

I will get some pics later today possible. I did install a flush fiberglass tonneau cover and Bed Rug just after I got the truck. Other than the shifter and CAI I just installed it all stock.

I have no plans to ever race the truck, drag or other. I am looking for the lowered stance, a little roar, with good handling and braking. Now along the way if I happen to run across some other goodies, well...

I hope to install the lowering kit next week if things are back to normal after Hurricane Sandy. I will get pics of the install.

Here is a pic from some time ago.

The guys that are against the 4.88's have never run them and have no experience. I have and you can get thru the 1/4 in 4th gear.

Thanks for the info on the 4.88. I do not believe I would ever run a 1/4 but it would be really cool to get from light to light really quick.

I found some pics I took a few weeks ago at work when I installed the shifter.

    Hello folks,

Couple of other little goodies, JTS hood shock covers and a shifter ball on top of the JTS shifter

Looking to install the 2/3 lowering kit next week. NY has been getting beat up pretty good the past couple weeks. Its putting a damper on getting this thing lowered.
