I am not a mechanic and have never claimed to be. While some worked on cars/trucks and engines, I decided to join the army. So I apologize if this is a dumb question.

When someone goes with Forged Internals what exactly does that mean? Doing more than rods and pistons? Is it a simple change or does more have to happen?

#1 this be the place to ask if ya got a question.

when ya go forged, it means you are goin to much stronger parts for your engine. pistons, rods, crankshaft & can include main bearin caps.

most OEM parts are cast parts. good for mass production & real light horse power.

that should help ya a bit.

there will be others to chime in for more in depth answer.

we got some very sharp folks here

also you need to determine what you are going for, naturally aspirated? nos, supercharger , turbo.

all those are built differently, so determine what you are going to do in the long run first, turbos take less compression, nos takes different rings, roes, dont need headwork, paxtons and superrchargers take a different cam, turbos take a diffferent cam, turbos take different valve springs, on and on and on:D
