This is a really interesting article that was sent to me by a friend. I thought that the members would enjoy reading it. It is titled "The Untold Story of the Fastest Pickup Truck Ever Sold".

Enjoy

Dang!!! I can't read the article because I don't have the Newsbreak app. Couldn't get it to open with Safari. Stupid apps anyways lol

Nice article! I wish they wouldn't show a QC where they talk of the world record - but at least it's a Red one! Hahahaha

I don’t understand the statement “making it the fastest production pickup truck in the world at the time”.
I always thought nothing has ever beat the SRT10 in top speed. Yeah, the electric truck are faster 0-60, but not top end.
So what trucks have beaten the SRT10 at top end speed? (Please provide link to article)

Well considering most articles are written by people who aren't always right it's hard to say. But read though this article and it's take on fastest trucks. THEN WHEN you get down the list quite a ways and read their description of the Ram SRT 10 it confirms that some authors don't have a clue!!! Hahahaha what a bunch of misinformation

This.... SUPERCHARGED 5 Speed - WTF?

I didn't see what you are referring too. I read thru this article a couple times and no where is it mentioned that the SRT-10 VIPER truck was Supercharged. It refers to the TRX with a supercharged engine.

Did I miss that? Just curious. Don't wouldn't want to spread misinformation.

Now I see it. It was published by someone called Pretty Motors but doesn't post their name. He, Her or It was the one that published the misinformation. That was NOT in the original article.

The information published by this clown is total BS. Never was a " In the Mid 2000's the RAM SRT-10, a supercharged version of the RAM, reached 500 horse power". NOT TRUE. Makes the entire article questionable as to correctness. Fake News!!!

No - my response was to a different post where he asked what other trucks are faster than the 10!

In the link I put in that reply is where the supercharged 5 speed is mentioned. You're good -

Yes! That's the article I was referring to that's all messed up! Not the one you posted

Maybe it was AI generated

A Holden Ute broke the Ram's top end record. It was controversial because a Holden Ute is basically an El Camino, so not an actual truck but a car with a bed and an 6.0 LS engine. So of course it blew away the ACTUAL truck's time (I think it hit 170 if memory serves). You can easily find this yourself.

Yep you're right on both accounts! Ute breaks record and much controversy hahaha!

I had one of these when we lived in Kalgoorlie Western Australia. A 5.7 LS 300hp originally. With a cam and valve springs, a remap blah blah blah 415hp. At 3900lbs made for quite spirited driving, shall we say.

I like it!

I was always fond of the El Camino back in the day, not a truck not a car (and being a girl not using it for heavy loads) I would have enjoyed it I'm sure

Probably had the same traction issues SRT-10 reg cabs had lol.

Yeah so utes are not trucks
That's why there was such an uproar. But since it was shaped like a truck *shrug* guess that's what happens when a European beer company decides things lol.
