Hawk's Nest, NY cruise 5/5/13

A friend of mine showed me this great cruise spot just into NY over the Delaware River from PA. I'd like to try and organize a cruise up through this area on May 5, 2013. At this point I am unsure of the time and what activities will follow, such as lunch or a few drinks. I'd also like to make it a benefit for an organization that my wife and I have followed closely over the last few years. This organization helps raise money for childhood cancer research. A donation is not required but would be greatly appreciated. I am open to suggestions also. Feel free to share this event on other forums and let's see what kind of a turnout we can get! I look forward to seeing you there!
 
Doesn't anybody want to go for a nice cruise up in the mountains?
 
The plan for us here in PA is to take a nice leisurely ride up to Port Jervis, NY. We will meet at the Rite-Aid in Port Jervis and head up from there. I figure we will meet around noon. I'm open to suggestions.

Looks like i probably wont be able to make it. I would have liked to. Let me know the next time you plan something like this. I have a car club that im part of down hear for my infiniti, and im sure a couple of them wouldnt mind going for a cruise as well, if you dont mind some nice g35s taging along.

Had a great time, despite the fact that not a single other person showed up. Due to no guarantees we decided to change our route and take mostly back roads up to Port Jervis. We decided to run 2 hill climb race courses on the ride up, Weatherly hill climb and Giant's Despair hill climb. Some information on these courses can be found here:

We decided to hit the interstate the closer we got to NY and had a run in with a black C5 Z06, had some fun runs on the interstate but nothing too crazy. The Vette made quick work of both of us but was still fun.

Once we reached Port Jervis and realized nobody would be joining us we decided to drive up to Orange County Choppers for lunch. We returned from OCC and went to Hawks Nest. Enough typing here are the pictures:

















































































All in all it was a great time. We did a couple runs on the highway with the Firehawk on the way home and I pulled him by about 2 truck lengths even with giving him the go.
