How to tell where the engine is from ?

[Arska2]

Hello,

does anybody know if there is a way to find out the VIN of the former truck,if i only have the engine number ?

I just want to make sure that one of the european members, who got a nice deal for his engine, did not buy one from a stolen truck.

Thanks in advance for help

Arne
